Nioxin 5

Nioxin is for thinning hair, not hair loss.

It's ads specifically say that it: "improves the appearance of thinning hair." That's it, nothing about hair loss, hair regeneration, etc. If you use Nioxin for these, it's not supposed to work.

I'm sixty and have been using Nioxin for around eleven months now and highly recommend it if your hair is thinning. I used to be able to see through my hair to my scalp and hated it. My first hair dresser recommended it as several of her clients got good results, so I started with Nioxin's System 3 because I color my hair.

After two months I didn't see any results but I was told it takes about six months to kick-in. After four months I could see some improvement and now at eleven months I'm a confirmed user and I have the thicker hair I wanted and will keep using Nioxin.

I use the System 3 shampoo, conditioner and leave-in spray. It's all clean and easy to use, I've never had any skin irritation or anything; the leave-in spray is a little stick upon application but after it dries your hair is normal. Nioxin leaves my hair feeling good.

I switched hair cutters several months ago and told her that I used Nioxin and she said that's what she and her salon recommend too. This confirmed that I was on the right track with my treatment.

I highly recommend Nioxin for anyone with thinning hair - but maybe if you're trying it for hair loss you might not get the results you're looking for.

Thinning hair often means hair loss, which results in, well, a thinner head of hair. Fine hair is what you are referring to. Fine hair is when each strand is just naturally thin. You can have a TON of fine hair and it can look thick because you have so much of it, but if you have thinning hair, it means you are suffering from some degree of hair loss.

I'm only 22, and after some medication, stress and using the wrong shampoo for about a year, my monstrously thick hair went from being unmanageable, to thinning. A lot of my hair fell out and just never grew back. My individual strands are still VERY thick, but overall, my hair looks thinner because of hair loss.

Thinning hair IS hair loss. Fine hair is having hairs small in diameter. You're confusing them.
