WildBlue 5

Wildblue is intended as an ALTERNATIVE TO DIAL UP. It's speed is 10-15x's faster than DIAL UP.
Speeds range between 512kbs-1.5megs. It is not recommended for

1. Downloading movies
2. Online Gaming
3. Connecting to a VPN

If you have dialup this is faster ....If you are slowed down , you are slowed to dial up speed
If that is unbearable ( dial up Speed ) that is why you signed up for the provider in the first place.
Be Aware of your Download usage there is a google add on for that for more info on speeds read my blog

First let me say we were NEVER told nor was it disclosed that wildblue was not good for anything except browsing the internet - for goodness sake I NEVER play the shoot them up games, but do enjoy a simple game of on line pinochle which SHOULD be an easy accomplishment on wildblue IF their upload speed was higher than 98...mine is usually around 84-86 which is good for absolutely nothing, now even browsing......yet wildblue gladly collects my 70.00 a month with NO light at the end of the tunnel. When I first got wildblue sadly my upload speed was the same while the download speed measured the 1050 kbps promised for the package I have.

If you are happy with wildblue color yourself one of the chosen FEW, as my free dialup loads pages 3X faster (at least) than wildblue.

My laptop sits right next to my desktop....one on wildblue, one on dialup.....dialup beats them every time, except on download speed LOL

I am finding few defend them, so I imagine the few that adamantly do have some undisclosed interest in wildblue, because they all say not for

1. Downloading movies
2. Online Gaming
3. Connecting to a VPN
