Ol' Roy 3

I started feeding my lab ol roy 3 yrs ago and now he's dead. 3 days ago I
had to put him down due to pancreatitis caused by the fat in his food. My
vet told me that ol roy is one of the worst dog foods you can give your dog
because it is loaded with fat and eventually the pancreas stops breaking it
down and begins to release an enzyme that actually turns on the pancreas.
This is a very painful way for a dog to die. I thought at first it was
great as well, he looked good and had lot's of energy but so do we after a
sugar rush or energy drink that is no good for us. Imagine how your body
would react to living on energy drinks and fatty foods all the time.
Putting your dog down is hard enough imagine knowing you could have
prevented it by doing a little research on what you feed him.

My condolences on your loss. It's a tough lesson to learn, and a hell of a tough way to learn it.

OMG, I just bought this stuff and it is sitting in my car, I will be taking it right back after reading this. I too have a lab and I would freak if anything happened to her because I was trying to save money. She has been on a weight management program with the vet and the food is very expensive but she looks great now so I thought maybe I could save by buying something else. For sure it is not worth it.
So sorry about your best friend.
