Bank of America 1

Bank tellers are full of misinformation and different people in the same branch tell you different things, like they will charge $10/day if you overdraft and have overdraft protection vs. $10/item. Also, if you overdraft, you will be charged $35/item. What they dont tell you is that the post the largest charges first, even if you made them when you had money in your account. Meaning, I got charged $35 for three 75 cent charges, even though those charges were made when I had money in there. Trust me, most banks don't do this. They post charges by the dates they were made, not by the amount. Also, BofA doesn't give you the option of not overdrafting. Meaning, I want a bank that will deny my card when theres no money in the account. A BofA ATM or Debit will never tell you insufficient funds when your charging or withdrawing. So, believe me, RUN! I'm changing banks pronto.

You are SOOOOOO right!!!! B of A SUCKS!!!! I would not bank there if it were the last bank on earth!!! My son and his estranged wife have an account there. She left him over two months ago. Although she would not work outside of the home (or inside for that matter), she used and used and used the debit card on frivilous things. She overdrew their account, and though they were separated, B of A would not put a block or anything on the card. Although they were negative, she was able to continue using and using. Now they are over $970.00 negative!!!!!! PLUS--- from June 18 until today, they have accumulated exactly $1995.00 in overdraft fees!!!!!! RUN RUN RUN

Trust me as a finance/commercial banking major EVERY bank will do this. Go ask JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi, BB&T, SunTrust, Regions, PNC, and USBANK! To the second poster, when you marry someone who is financially irresponsible, you become responsible for their mistakes- being estranged or even divorced does not free you from joint bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages, etc. The point here is you need to hold your son responsible for signing up for joint bank accounts and giving his wife the debit card to hang herself with. This is a problem between him and this estranged wife, you really think Bank America is gonna take sides? Oh you poor thing you married an idiot and gave her your debit card and she can't control her spending. Sounds like a bank error to me! Not.
