One of the all-time greats, Lacoste was the last survivor of the French "Four Musketeers" (the others were Borotra, Cochet and Brugnon), who won the Wimbledon title in every one of the six years from 1924 to 1929 - an amazing achievement. He himself won it twice. Illness forced his premature retirement at the age of only 25. What a talent!
