University of Phoenix Online 1

O stars

I attended 2 classes through UofP for 2 months without doing my research. I seriously regret the decision. First of all, I always thought a traditional college or community college wasn't right for me. So I was interested in distance learning.

It alllll started with the enrollment counselor calling me over and over for about a year before I finally enrolled. After I enrolled, was "accepted," and had a start date, I was told they didn't have a program for what I wanted to do (Visual Communications) so they stuck me with the closest degree, Web Design. I tried to accept it, thinking it does relate to what I really do want to do. After my first set of classes, I realized Web Design is NOT what I want to do, and I certainly do not want a degree in Web Design. I talked to my counselor about it, and she convinced me to stay through my next set of classes since that's what my loan has already paid for. I tried to for about 2 weeks until I did hours of research on the University. Everything I read made sense to me, and I realized it was ALL true. The University is scam. The classes are unbelievably expensive. Especially for the fact that a lot of people can't even get jobs for their 50 thousand dollar degree. After I read everything I quickly withdrew and am now stuck with 5 thousand dollars on my credit, amnd excessive phones calls from the University. Seriously, most colleges and community colleges offer online courses. Save your time and money and go enroll in a community college.

UOP is a rip off. At least you were smart enough to get out of there early. I will be done with my associate degree in IT this year. The school is not interested in helping their students, they just want the money. I would not recommend UOP to ANYONE. If I had it to do over again, I never would have attended UOP.
