i wish i could give this zero stars. i thought i was putting my dog on something better. i just want the best for him. i started switching him from iams (gradually for two weeks), which he was doing well with. But when i had him completely on california natural his health deteriorated. he was tired, no longer lively. He had horrible gas and diahhrea. I felt so bad for having put him through it. I am very upset with california natural . what a rip off...and my poor dog. i switched him over to healthwise lamb. i know it's the same company but i think the simple ingredients are better. no extra things that hike up the cost and make him sick. DO NOT FEED THIS TO YOUR DOG

Your experience with California Natural was unusual. The fact is, there is no one best food for every dog on the planet, any more than there is no one magical food that all people can eat and will thrive on. That doesn't mean that the food your dog did poorly on was BAD... just that it wasn't RIGHT for him. If your dog does well on HealthWise, fantastic! However, if he does not, that doesn't necessarily make HealthWise a bad food. Understand that there are scores of foods out there with wonderful nutritional quality, and sometimes you have to try several to find the right one for your dog. Just keep researching, keep exploring your options... there are so many foods out there much better than Iams, and you are on the right path to finding them.
