University of Phoenix Online 5

I am currently attending UoP in hopes of getting my associates in accounting. My experience with the UoP has been nothing but positive. My academic and financial counselors calls me at least twice a month to see if how i am doing and if I had any questions. They also provide tips for me to use for my current classes.

My question is for the UoP alumni, have you had any trouble finding a job that pays well with an online degree from UoP? I love UoP, but one review really caught my eye causing me to freak out. This reviewer said that he was told by three companies that they wouldn't hire anyone who holds a degree with UoP.

I have been taking online classes from UoP as well. i only just recently found out that it was not accredited. That could be the reason why people are having a hard time finding job with a degree from this school. I am going to withdraw as soon as possible.

yeah, and my daughter was just informed by e-mail that this school changed its policy on refund checks left from payment made by loans, fafsa, etc. she was given 10,000 for her first semester, all her classes were paid for up front and they are with holding her money as per say a new policy written 10/09/09 informing the disbursements will be handed out at the end of the year. What a bunch of bull crap! I think Pheonix is scamming people and my daughter needs to withdraw ASAP and make them send all that money back!

Kurt,

Where did you find out that UOP was not accredited? According to the U.S. Dept of Education's website, UOP is a regionally accredited institution. I would check your facts before making such posting.

Ok, to all the people on here complaining about money that went to the school TO PAY FOR SCHOOL, you are all freakin idiots! You probably should be in college anyway. Financial aid money and PELL money is for the student to use for school. SCHOO PEOPL. Not to pay your bills, not to live off of not to buy a freakin car. You are suppose to pay for school. So why would you be mad because the money stays there?? I'm kind of floored by that. It almost sounds like you are going to school simply to get money because you are to damn lazy to get off your ass and get a freakin job like the rest of us. I work full-time, take care of my kids and I go to school. I use my financial aid to pay for my classes so that I don't have to come out of pocket for it. You need to get a life lady and stop teaching your adult child that what you are saying is right. She might end up just as dumb as you are!! Get a life!

As far as the school be accredited. It is Regionally Accredited. Just like Harvard or ASU. This is information that can be verified by any human with a working brain. Go to www.collegecourse.org and look it up! I think the only reason you want to drop out is because you're a PELL chaser!
