Like most of you I have had the same rotten experiences with Citizens Bank. Finally, today I have had enough, I filed my complaint with the Comptroller of Currency (the Governing Body for this bank) http://www.occ.treas.gov/customer.htm
I was told by a lovely teller at the Citizens Branch in my neighborhood that I should call customer service and request to OPT-OUT of Overdraft Protection. That way my card would be declined if I tried to purchase something and there weren't enough funds to cover it. I signed up for this. And I just checked my balance and I have $234 in overdraft fees...HMMMMM. So I called and the lovely rep explained in her own words "It doesn't work 100%" Are you freaking kidding me! Needless to say, I was put on hold for 10 minutes for a manager who said the usual, I can't do anything, its not a bank error. Well if that's not a bank error I just do n't know what is! So my complaint was lodged and here I am..hoping for a positive outcome. I can't wait to leave this bank.
