Lindy's 2

Shockingly expensive. Lindy's is in the tourist zone, and I get the feeling they don't really care about repeat visits.

I had a Reuben that cost - (wait for it) - $23. This must be the most expensive Reuben on the planet.

The fact that it was damn good and piled high with about a pound of beef doesn't really ease the pain.

The staff was rough and uninterested - they seemed more about stopping people from the outdoor seating section from dining and ditching than waiting tables.

So unless you are incredibly hungry, desperate to sit outside, and willing to drop $23 on a sandwich, you should probably skip it.

That's ridiculous. I like Reubens, but I start looking elsewhere once the price gets over about $6.00 for a sandwich. Once a meal gets over $20, we better be talking steak as far as I'm concerned.

I'd probably pay $23 for "damn good" pastrami here in SF (rarely, but I'd do it), but that's only because it's impossible to find. NYC is another story entirely :P
