Grape Seed Oil 5

When you have to go very hot and you don't want to destroy a good olive oil, grape seed oil needs to be in your pantry. It has the highest smoking point of any edible oil and is nearly as savory as olive oil. It will go over 400 degrees F before it starts to smoke, is loaded with a good balance of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and is very low in saturated fats, which is "heart-smart". Price-wise, it's right in the middle, but if you're used to buying cheaply processed oils, you might find yourself reading from the right side of the menu, instead of getting what you want for a few more dollars. For the price (I'm paying around $10.00/quart), it's a bargain.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks $10.00/quart is far from a bargain. If you know where to shop, (and most people don't), you can get 48 oz. of vegetable oil for somewhere around $2.00. I'm not saying that everyone should use vegetable oil over more healthy options such as olive or grape seed, but when money is tight, you do what you got to do. A disagree from me, but only for the "$10.00/per quart bargain" statement.

If money is the only issue, then you've got a point.
