Djarum Black 5

I love the original djarum blacks. I was fortunate enough to stockpile some cartons..... Anyone interested... These are considered "collectibles" now, so you may want some for the memories.
Let me know.

I can understand them not wanting us to buy online as those Kretek have to go through Customs and a lot of things could be smuggled in with a big batch..and I have bough big batches before with no problem but why are they banning the American Djarum...they don't have an import sticker on them, you can tell they been made in America as they have 20 cigs to a pack instead of what other countries use like I tell later either 12 or 16

I just bought my last pack of Blacks about 20 minutes ago....store clerk said Djarium has been bought out. Now this reminds me of back in the day when Sampoerna Ex-Tra was the badest best tasting and smelling and sparkling Kretek (clove) on the market. The Ex-Tra's were black also but Phillip Morris bought them out and you can still get some different kinds of Sampoerna's but not the Ex-Tra. I know of a guy in Indonesia that sells and he says they don't even make them their anymore but he sells online and is trust worthy but now that the ban has taken place a month after you wrote this, I don't think customs will allow them (Kretek) into America. I would buy cartons from him at a time of Kretek (cloves ) soooooo many brands that people in America never even heard of, my favorite has to be Bentoel, they were like a super smooth camel wide kind of clove cig. I would get them and all other brands at like $1.90 a pack plus 3 day shipping just because they are overflowed in Indonesia they will sell at any price to get rid of them but you also have to get to know the seller for better deals... but funny thing is, their packs either come in packs of 12 (re-fills) they are called cause they re-fill your cig case or they come in packs of 16

Anyone know why they are called Kretek? Kretek is the Indonesian word for the crackling sound they make when you smoke them. Also...you need to try for only once to smoke their traditional brand of choice the Dji Sam Soe Kretek... they are filter less.
