California Security Training Academy 2

Ok so a leave a review and get a email to come back to the sit and read this from the staff. So now I am sure that it is the staff writing all the reviews. So you say that you are a "security contacter in IRAK" and have no use for the Penal code. Well I knew how to shoot when I went to the class as did some of the other students. What they did not know was the law and as I understand it that is what the class is about for the most part. You can not teach someone how to shoot well in just 16 hours or what ever was the length of the class. Two days anyway. Most of it was in the classroom so how could you be teaching anything else besides the law and perhaps maintaince and the like. Well I will give you one out and that is that you are the only Security school I have attended in Sacramento. But if you are the best I should move.

No I got my original training from a school in LA but could not stay for the Firearms training, my bad.

I never worked in Irak but understand that for the most part that is more of a Military style of training requirment and work. So how does that not differ from civilain Security. Anyway I got my card from BSIS and can now go where ever I want to keep up my permit. I will choose someone else. I think that some other school uses the same range (which was not bad) so perhaps they will get my money.

What class did you take? It sounds like firearms? The 40 hour course was awesome. Have not taken the firearms. Maybe its a different instructor??

Theot,

All our comments are from actual students. We encourage all of our clients to write what they thought about the class. We hide nothing. If you were unhappy with the course (I take it that it was the Firearms course) you should email me at csta.coo@gmail.com so we can find out what instructor it was and what the situation was.

Instructors may make mistakes. That's why we get to the bottom and correct anything that was wrong.

Mind you, when you speak of "These guys" I would offer you a 1 on 1 with all our instructors for you to sit and compare resumes with. The founder of this company is also retired law enforcement, US Marine, BSIS and his name and knowledge are well established.

I for one, as a security specialist having worked in Iraq and as a board certified trainer in the states, have no use for penal codes. It IS something we teach here, but the less a Security Officers tries to be like a Law Enforcement Officer the better they can EACH to their job. We teach the fundamentals and more.

For you as a former Police Officer transitioning into Private Security, you are well versed in PC’s and the greatest thing we have to teach you, is that you are no longer a Law Enforcement Agent. If you would have taken OUR 40 hour course, we go in DEAPTH on ALL PC's. Where did you get your Guard Training? It wasn't from us.

My offer stills stands, look forward to hearing from you.

Its "Security contractor in Iraq".

My offer still stands.

The course, by BSIS standard is "only 16 hours" and we as with MANY other schools would like to spend longer. But with out statistical results and working along side BSIS, we have great results for taking a person off the street who has NEVER used a fire arm and training that person.

I am not afraid to say penal codes mean nothing to me, nor will any security officer who is taught them remember it. I worked for one on the nations leading security firms not to mention the Government. A Penal Code is a number that means nothing to Security Officers. What DOES mean something is UNDERSTANDING what difference between a felony, misdemeanor and citation are.

I’m not short of calling your experience into question. I was a Marine, Private Security and a Deputy. So whereas you bring just your law enforcement knowledge in as the “Standard” I say you’re lacking in the reality of the Private Security industry.

You are not a Law Enforcement Officer anymore NOR should you be calling codes into the Police Department. These are codes of arrest or citation, NEITHER of which you will be doing unless you are granted that power or just want to open yourself or company to civil liability. Stick to OBSERVE and REPORT (just the facts ma’am….just the facts)

The “FACTS” are you shouldn’t assume, you just report WHAT you SEE.

If YOU invoke citizen’s arrest, you would be WISE not to trump yourself up as former law enforcement. You are not covered in liability like LEO’s are now, Security Officer.

If you would like to address any issue you have with training you are free to contact BSIS concerning this matter. As I see you are former law enforcement, very skilled and went into security training having learned nothing because you knew it all, I’m sure you could help BSIS change the security industry that you speak so lowly about in California.

Don't be dissuaded if when you meet with them that they are also retired law enforcement. Try not offending them as they are your FELLOW LEO’s who wrote the standards. Maybe you can compare your resume to them and validate your experience and opinions.

You are free to use whatever training faculty you choose. With your experience, maybe you should teach at one of them.

We like to deal with things as professionals. If we see something or have an opinion we step up and say it. We take one negative criticism out of 1000 praises as something to look at, that we may see a chance to improve. My only regret is you weren’t man enough to fill out a comment card or pull the instructor aside and tell him what you thought was wrong, being that you claim to be highly experienced. As a Marine, I for one, if I see something is wrong or THINK that someone is teaching something that falls below standard, I will NOT walk away from the issue as you did. IF there WERE a serious issue in the training, YOU just let it go on. YOU let OTHERS then and in the future walk away only to get themselves injured or killed.

We are not worried. We and BSIS have complete faith in our instructors and our training standards. You can be assured that your possible ignorance won’t lead to any of our clients (students) fall victim to sub-standard training, as we have none.
