A grape is the fruit that grows on the woody vines of the family Vitaceae. Grapes grow in clusters of 6 to 300, and can be black, blue, golden, green, purple, red, pink, brown, peach or white.

Grapes are a great fruit, especially when you get them extra crunchy. When the grapes are past ripe, they can be kind of mushy and they may have lost their sweet taste. When green grapes are too ripe, they may be too sour; I like it that way, but not everybody does. Grapes are best eaten when frozen for about 3 hours; the fruit almost tastes creamy as you eat the grapes frozen. Chile usually produces really good grapes which are avilable at U.S. markets from February to March.
