The Nationals joined the NBA in the 1949-50 season, and then moved to Philadelphia in 1963 as the 76ers. The franchise won NBA championships in 1955, 1967, and 1983, and both the 1967 and 1983 teams were selected by a panel of media members as two of the Ten Top Teams in NBA History.
