I would have picked a nicer term to get my point across, but you are correct in what you said. I loath those types of commercials no matter what product they are trying to sell. There should be some limits set on what can appear on TV like they used to have. Its one of the reasons I don't watch TV too much anymore. I also make a point to avoid buying the product from such idiotic commercials.
