This was a pretty realistic portrayal of men at war that didn't glorify carnage the way most of the WWII generation and their mutant progeny, who are now ardent supporters of that idiot in the Oval Office, would have liked. Vic Morrow was good as Sgt. Saunders and the rest of the cast was adequate, but the problem here was the show was on the air too long and the scripts got to be very thin in the final two seasons of the series. At least this was a serious and mature take on a genre that had been handled in a cartoonish manner by TV up until then.
