Maureen Connolly

Maureen Connolly is one of only 3 women to win a seasonal Grand Slam in womens tennis (1953). Maureen Connolly won 3 Wimbledons, 3 US Opens, 2 French Opens, and 1 Australian Open during her career. Maureen Connolly won every grand slam singles event she appeared in. Maureen Connolly's career came to an early and abrupt end in 1954 after suffering a broken leg in a horse riding accident. Maureen Connolly died in 1969 at the age of 34.
