There is a "Kansas City Museum" that's quite ordinary and completely distinct from the Nelson-Atkins Art Gallery. Don't confuse them, and visit the Nelson-Atkins if you have the opportunity to do so. The building itself is noteworthy, and the collections are (for the most part) good to excellent - except for the Oriential collection, which is world-famous and in a class by itself. It would be interesting to know why such a superior collection of Oriential art resides in Kansas City, but there it is!
