Wow, this is a slippery slope. Whether or not you like Davis or blame him for California's ills is not the issue. Elections should not be undone at the whims of popularity, unless the politician clearly committed a crime. Do Californians really think this won't happen again? It's pretty easy to get signatures of 2% of the population and now that the can of worms is open.... Besides, I think this is a horrible strategy for the republican party. 1. Why murder someone when they're committing suicide. Davis would have been out in the next election. 2. If a republican is elected and they can't turn things around quickly, voters are going to be pretty quick to point fingers.
