Bob Knight (Texas Tech)

Bob Knight took over as head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders prior to the 2001-02 season. Prior to his Texas Tech position, Bob Knight had coached for 29 years at Indiana, where he amassed 662 victories. Bob Knight was fired from Indiana for violating the team's no tolerance policy in regards to his interaction with players.

Anyone who knows anything about basketball knows that Kight is one of the five greatest coaches in the history of the game. His introduction of the Motion offense in 1973 revolutionized offensive play and his Motion or a form of it bacame the most widely used offense in the history of the sport. He also brought back to the world of college basketball tough man to man defense based on principles that called for ball pressure, passing lane pressure, help on the ball side of the floor and zone principles away from the ball allowing for help on the weak side of the floor.
