I wanted to finish my degree in the shortest time with all the necessary credits. I was naive and unaware of the consequences that go along in finding a job with a degree from a mediocre school. I was just finishing my military duty and had the opportunity to acquire my BS in Information Systems from CTU. My Associates was honored and I finished my Bachelors in less than two years. I knew I made a mistake when the credits I was earning from the school were not transferable to other state schools and I was maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my entire attendance. I graduated thinking that it was too easy.
Later, I sent out resumes for a year. No job agencies would contact me and I did not get any leads from any organizations wanting to hire me. Companies wanting to sell me Microsoft Certification classes was about it. I was able to land a contract position and later hired on as a full-time employee by making contact with an old friend who helped me get hired as a Software Developer.

There are many scams offering easy, short classes to obtain a degree. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. CTU along with many of these online universities are not offering solid education. CTU does not prepare students for harshly competitive, real working world.

Top notch education! The quality of instruction and resources have always exceeded my expectations. I find students to be friendly, bright and helpful. While it is certainly known for its sciences I have found the social sciences to also be superb (despite what other people have said). The city leaves a little to be desired, but the academics certainly make up for it. While everyone here has a little bit of "nerd" in them, people are down to earth and know how to balance their time in the library with other things.

Rowan is a great school! Many people who have previously reviewed the school negatively seem to be focused on the previous negative history of Glassboro College. It has a different name now and is all together a different school. It is known for its Engineering program(one of the top in the United States), Business School, and Education program. Basically, this school offers the education you would get in an Ivy league without the price and you are actually taught by the professors and not TAs! The smaller classroom size makes its a lot easier to focus and doesn't make you seem like you are lost among numbers. Honestly, I was accepted into Rutgers, Princeton, Rowan, and Drexel and I chose Rowan because of the above reasons, and I have NEVER regretted my choice. Also, Glassboro is a complete college town and very laidback. Since the time I've been here, people have stopped going home so much on the weekends because it is becoming a great place to hang out on the weekends to relax. Lastly, the on campus housing is AMAZING and probably the cleanest and newest in comparison to the other colleges I saw. This post is just my opinion, and if you couldn't tell I LOVE it at Rowan! Hope this helps! :)

Last semester I attended DeVry Online (BSEET program). For the most part it has been a positive experience. I had a negative experience with a group assignment for a class. However I emailed my concerns to the professor who actually called me at home on Super Bowl Sunday, and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. So in retrospect really the only negative at this point for me is the cost. It is very expensive, at around $525 per credit hour. However the BSEET program is ABET accredited and you can attend the online classes at your convenience. If you are a full time working adult with a family this is a great option. I would rather be taking classes at a less expensive local school, but my work schedule will not allow that. In the early 90s I attened ITT Tech, Fort Wayne, IN. In my opionion DeVry is a much better school than ITT.

In addition I would like to state that I work with a 1982 DeVry Chicago graduate who has had a successful engineering career.

I might also ad that for me this is about adding the degree to my resume, as I am already employed as an engineer.

I DO NOT RECOMEND UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX!!!!

I took two classes with UOP recently and after my experience, I left University of Phoenix and went to a Community College.

Again, I DO NOT RECOMEND UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX as first very expensive (3 times the cost of Community College) and an extremely BAD experience with the Academic Student Services department. They were found to be the most unprofessional team starting from the Academic Counsler Kristine Gounelas, her manager Tom to thier Director, Jennifer Burrell (Knispel), MM, Director of Student Services.

The Academic Counsler had advised me of a school policy which caused me hardship. It later came up that she was incorrect and when I escalated to her manager, he didn’t bother to call me until 2 to 3 weeks later. When I finally spoke to him, he covered up his employees action and said these things happen.

I escalated to the Director of Student Services who did not bother to return my calls. The Manager of Student Services Tom called me back after escalating to the Director and actually harassed me and said that I should have read the fine print on the student services web page and that there is no further escalation at the school than him other than writing a letter to the school.

I have never been involved with such an unprofessional type of school or company. Total disregard for a full time student. I consider myself lucky to find out how BAD of a school UOP is and to cut my losses now rather than being half way through my degree and find out that the schools that I contacted, WILL NOT TRANSFER the UOP credits. Never mind that the Community College is 1/3 the price. Do yourself a favor and find a school that is for the students!

From my personal experience, University of Phoenix is not for the students!!

The UOP Enrollment team was very Professional acting throughout this extremely bad experience.

After attending Pace for 2 semesters I transferred to NYU and have had such a better experience.
Pace is a terrible institution, bad professors, terrible student services and horribly expensive for basically nothing. The only perk is the location if you are staying in or around Manhattan. Although if you are expect a screwed up meal plan, bureaucratic policies and a messy frustrating time dealing with any staff. My advice don't even apply here, you will almost certainly get accepted but not because you had great SAT's/ACT's or an amazing transcript but because you are another person that will pay them. The only reason some of the people here have given the school good reviews is because they got a fairly decent job and the reason for that is because the school is in New York! Its not hard to start a great job if you graduate from any school in New York with a little bit of work and an internship or two, but it has nothing to do with Pace. The only other constant you can expect is a steadily rising cost of tuition and housing, and I know every school has this but Pace seems to have a particularly greedy mindset, don't believe me ask a Pace Student or just check Facebook and observe the general complaints Pace students have.

I have loans up to $40,000 that I am still paying and I can't find a job that will take my degree seriously. My enrollment counselor ensured me that the degree would help me reach my goal to become a liscenced psychologist. When I tried contacting somebody about my frustrations they threw a bunch of bull about contracts and how I should have done better research. I agree! I should have done better research. I had assumed that based on their solid accreditation scores, I could trust them to lead me in the right direction. Seems that their last concern is in helping their students find career placement, but more so that they recieve their money and once done nothing else matters. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA. I worked my butt off and I come from a poor family, so $40,000 doesn't come easily. I feel sick at any mention of the word UofP. I don't feel they had my best interest at heart, I honestly feel it was only about the money for them. I am extremely disappointed. :(

In July 2009, the University of Illinois launched a salary freeze for administrators, faculty and other academic professionals without considering how much a person earns in a year, or whether the salary is from the university or external funding or grants. More than 65 administratives in the University of Illinois each make $200,000 to more than $450,000 annually. Since they make big sum of money in a year, the freezing doesn't hurt them at all. The president of the University at Urbana makes $450,000 annually.

AIU is a great school for students who are mature and have discipline. If you are the typical Gen X/Y slacker, this school is not for you. Yes the University is expensive but they provide concierge service. Everything is done for you administratively and all books & software are included in the tuition. Frankly, as I read some of these negative reviews the common theme is the whiner "they didn't do everything for me and I actually was expected to put forth effort" routine. If you can't do the required work without having a professor hold your hand, AIU is not for you. I completed my undergraduate at a traditional school. The university expects graduate students to be self motivated and if you are you will succeed, if not you will fail. I would venture that anyone who can not do well at AIU will likely not do well elsewhere... or in life.

The previous posters are correct, but for the wrong reasons. UIUC is not a public school Ivy- its engineering program actually blows the Ivy Leagues out of the water according to US News and World Reports and has a lot of program directors at Stanford and MIT very nervous about their own rankings.

UIUC is also strong in the hard sciences, math, and actuarial science. Its accounting program is currently beating Wharton's (and the other Ivies).

I don't know what the earlier poster was talking about when he mentioned grade inflation. Engineering and Math courses typically curve to a C+/B- average. If you graduate with a 3.5 GPA from UIUC in Math or Engineering, that's a pretty impressive accomplishment.
