What a great way to learn; give back to the world community; and meet compassionate people with similar interests. This website is pure in its mission and empowering for its members, I cannot think of a better place to spend time.

The world will thank Smedule for the new me! This is a cool new service that just launched in Denver. I can never seem to get around to booking personal services. But with Smedule, I could get online and schedule my long-overdue hair appointment right downtown, minutes from my office. The business called to confirm and I even got a reminder email, so it all went off without a hitch. And Smedule now if you could only help me keep the holiday weight off...

I was blown away by this network, we are promoting our products using them, started out with a pretty good CPM rate, and within weeks we had our rate go down and the campaign was optimized to convert traffic to our products better than we expected.
Great job guys.

Brizzly is a web based reader that lets you set up a single dashboard to read multiple Twitter feeds as well as your FB feed. It does some neat things like show you photos in your Twitter feed without making you click on a link to somewhere else. You can also post photos to Twitter right from the Brizzly dashboard.

It's a young service - Brizzly just went into open beta today, and there are still some big gaps - you can't browse FB profiles for example, nor can you post a photo to FB.

But it's a marvelously clean UI. None of the other Twitter / FB clients have grabbed me so far. But I think I'm going to give Brizzly a try as my day to day feed reader.

A lot of hidden expenses.
Pay extra tax an so on is OK.
But paying 150 $ to receive goods for 479 $ to DHL on top of 200 for tax and transportation sucks.
If you live in Denmark - don't use Borderlinx!

I like to travel, and I like to keep a record of where I've been. After returning from Egypt I decided that the best way to do this was to print my favourite photos in a photo book and to include a journal of what I'd done, and where I'd been.

I had a good look around at the options such as Blurb Booksmart, MyPublisher, and iPhoto and eventually I settled on Blurb mostly because of the options that were available as the ability to get it printed in hardback with a dust jacket sounded great!

So, over the next year after having found it I took another holiday, this time to Peru and made sure I'd kept an actual diary of what the place was like, etc. and use their software when I got back to arrange the photos and the text how I wanted it.

The software itself is available for both Mac and Windows which means it does cover the majority of users (sorry Linux guys!) and is quite quick to install as it needs very little user interaction. Once it is installed you get the option of the following styles of book to create:

- Small Square
- Standard Landscape
- Standard Portrait
- Large Landscape
- Large Square
- B/W Text

The colour one's when printed have the option of being printed in paperback, hardback, hardback with dust jacket, or an image wrap cover. You actually have the option of creating your book by uploading a PDF created with any application as well - so if you prefer inDesign then there's no reason you can't use it (though it's recommended you read the notes on http://www.blurb.com/make/pdf_to_book first).

Once you've picked your size you can pick a starting template, personally I prefer to start with a blank one as I like to design it myself, and the same goes for it's in-built themes too. The pages which you can add are broken down into several categories (cover, photo page, text page, etc) and each one contains a number of different pre-built templates for you to start with - but you can also edit the template to suit your requirements.

Once I'd produced my two books for Egypt and Peru I then submitted them to Blurb to be printed. You have the option of selling the book in their store too, though if you don't buy a copy yourself and no one buys a copy in 30 days it is removed. I didn't really care about selling copies so I bought a copy of each myself and eagerly awaited their arrival.

A couple of weeks later they finally arrived from their European printing place and were well packaged, complete with bubble wrap. The Egyptian one which had the least planning, preparation and work go into it came out the best in terms of quality. Unfortunately the Peru one had the small issue of the dust jacket being badly printed which meant more of the spine was on the front than down the side.

Considering their cost I didn't really want to leave it there so I contacted Blurb and they promised to send me out another free of charge. They did, and a couple of weeks later it arrived in perfect condition and I was very happy with the result. Their quick action to correct the error made me happy enough with them to get my third one (Europe 2009) also printed with them and I'm likely to do the same next year after I get back from my travels.

Now for some examples:

Egypt: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/608970
Peru: http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/614865

You'll notice that the Egypt one is ugly and boring - this was using one of the standard front cover templates built into the software. For the Peru one I decided to produce my own cover in Photoshop and that was the result, so I think it does demonstrate some good flexibility with their product.

In terms of paper quality what I've bought so far has been really good, though I have been using the Premium Paper option each time (which has a nice glossy finish and is quite thick) so I'm not sure what sort of paper they use for normal ones. Feeling the paper I'd approximate it as being about 220gsm.

I had an iPhone 3g that had a smashed screen(it got ran over) but amazingly enough it still worked. I work 15 miles away from iResQ and dropped my phone off with them at 8:30 am. Eventhough I had no appointment I walked right end filled out a form and by 2:00pm they called and said it was ready to go. The cost was $101 with tax and it looks as good as new...WHEW!!! These guys are quick and professional and upfront with the charges. AWESOME.
