This game was made by Dale Disharoon and was manufactured by Spinnaker. On this cartridge, you can either play the game that's on the cartridge or you can make your own games.
If you play the computer's version, press the B key or the A key. B is beginner. A is advanced.
You can build your own rooms and you can put one creature in each room. You can build your creatures and choose their colors. You can also name them. You can make your creatures move slow, medium, or fast. Or you can make them stationary. You can make them zap away your energy. You can make them pop you around the room. You can make them give or trade items. You can also make them talk to you.
You can put certain objects in the rooms that will zap away your energy. When your energy runs out, you'll die and the game will end.
You can make the goal of your game to find a certain amount of wealth or a certain treasure. You can change the names of the treasures and put up to nine locks on the chests.
You can put another chest on each screen. These chests have certain things to help you. They are: Nippers, Ferets, Shields, Torches, and Energy.
Nippers will destroy certain objects that are in the rooms (Not the creatures.) Shooting a creature with a feret tells you what that creature will do to you.
Shields protect you from certain objects and from creatures for 6 or 7 seconds. The torches help you get through a dark room.
You can choose the name of your game and you can put your name as the creator.
If you're using an 8K or 16K Atari Computer, you can build up to twenty rooms. If you're using a 48K or 64K computer, you can build up to 100 rooms. The 16K Computers are the Atari 400 and Atari 600XL computers. The 48K computer is the more advanced Atari 800. The 64K computers are the Atari 800XL, 1200XL, etc. The original Atari 400 was an 8K computer. Atari eventually made it 16K.
If you have an Atari 48K or 64K computer and an Atari 16K computer, don't try to load your 48K or 64K Adventure Creator games on a 16K Atari Computer. It won't work.
To be able to make your own games, you will need a disk drive or an Atari 410 or Atari 1010 cassette recorder. The Adventure Creator cartridge must be in the computer while you load the game that you've made and while you play it.
This was one of the better Atari 400/800 games. I gladly give this game a 5 star rating.
