this name brings back memories. this is what my dad called television. he was born in 1929 and spent his whole childhood and part of his adult years without the tv. we had one growing up and he watched at times. but he could not get why people were so attached to it. he could easily go outside or do other things that watch "that idiot box". it does seem like the tv can have some totally idiotic shows especially some of those reality shows.

No need to go into further detail on this. It's very self explanatory.

As in "Something to keep boobs occupied?" Another excellent description.

Or "Slightly prurient views of boobs?" Somewhat less apt but a solid description.

Just a shorter form for television that I think over the years quite a few people have adapted to saying. People shorten a lot of words up. I guess they figure it just saves time.

As in "A box that idiots stare at?" Perfect description.

Well, I don't know how much the word "box" applies to the many who use flatscreens (perhaps a little since they still retain the same basic shape), but there is still the matter of the programming displayed on its monitor, and quite a bit of it fits the description of "idiotic". Therefore, sometimes the word "idiot box" is quite a suitable name.

From what I understand, the current version of the Star Wars Television Show under development is a reworking of the classic variety show format that was popular at the time that the original Star Wars film came out.

They are in negotiation with Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill to host, although frankly I think that Billie Dee Williams would make a better host. They'll have a weekly guest who will perform skits with the regular cast, including Hayden Christiansen, Natalie Portman, Peter Mayhew and there will be a weekly Ewok feature for the kids. The guest and one of the hosts will do a musical number with an updated version of the Mos Eisly Cantina Band called Mos Notorious Freak E.

Myself and many other Star Wars fans are getting tired of waiting for the Star Wars Television show to be made. George Lucas keeps delaying it.

At first it was supposed to be made in 2007 or 2008. But Lucas delayed it until 2010 and now he's delayed it until 2012.

I've got a message for George Lucas; "Stop delaying your damn show! People are getting tired of waiting. I swear to God, if you delay it just once more, I will not watch it!"

This show could be the best Sci-Fi TV show that's ever been made. But if we never get to watch it, what's the point? I'm not giving this show a 1 star rating. I'm giving George Lucas's delays a 1 star rating.

My chiropractor Dr. Emil Thud has on several occassions suggested he use this on me, but based on the review below I think I'm going to pass.
