He is the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Philips, and the eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.

He is the first grandson of a British monarch not to hold a title. He is tenth in the line of the succession to the British throne. He does not carry out any official royal engagements and receives no money from the government. However he does attend major royal events, and usually appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at events such as the Queen's Golden Jubilee. He currently works for the Williams Formula One racing team.

He is the first cousin of the Queen and has served in the army and held various government positions. The Duke of Kent has performed royal duties on behalf of his cousin, the Queen, for over 50 years.

He stays in the background and is a good person from all reports.

He is one of the Queen's cousins and he is 18th in line of succession so it would take a major disaster for him to become Richard IV.

When he was born, he was fifth in line, but the Mountbatten-Windsor brood expanded rapidly and he sank in the standings. He bustles around representing the queen here and there.

Aside from the very unusal career path of having served under Clinton as a young female intern and then joined the Bush White House's All Virgin Boys Choir, there was nothing of note in his tenure as Prime Minister.

This monster should have appeared in Animal House in a brief cameo. She should have pushed John Vernon ( Dean Wormer) out of the way for one second and said " No more fun of any kind!" instead.

I really can't add much to Irishgit's excellent review here. I do think that the historians are taking a clearer look at Chamberlain. Most of the generations who trashed his reputation are gone.

He was a realist and his defense preparations including building up the RAF and maintaining the navy saved Britain in the early years of the war.

His big mistake was extending the guarantee to Poland. Britain had as much chance helping Poland then as today Norway could spread its defensive wings over Nepal.

Never liked him. The Conservatives were on their way to messing up Britain, Tony Blair took the baton right out of their hands and trailblazed with some monumental f**k ups. Siding with Bush against his country and cabinet's wishes was one. Education and the introduction of Academy's being another, closing down fields for kids to do PE(Physical Education) lessons and cutting PE altogether to create the biggest obese generation of kids in Europe. I won't go on a rant, but he's done nothing of any substantial difference to improve anything. The joke is they want this man to be the first President of Europe. They need only take a look at Britain to change their minds.

If this was a list of British Generals or military figures, Wellesley would be a deserving 5 stars. As a Prime Minister, however, he wasn't a disaster but he wasn't particularly good, either. A staunch opponent of electoral reform (English politics of the day were notoriously and openly corrupt) he came under attack from within and without parliament. Interestingly, his nickname "The Iron Duke" dates from this era, not his military career, and refers to him having metal shutters installed on his windows to protect them from rocks thrown by the mob. In his favor, he did support Catholic emancipation, and spoke in favor of giving them the right to vote.
