Are all of you really that ridiculously against something that has no effect on you at all? I have had my tongue pierced for two years and unless I tell someone that I have it done that cannot tell (I am male). I speak no differently than when it was not, and I do not play with it when I am speaking with anyone. I respect peoples' opinions on the matter. Some girls find it attractive, others do not. The majority of them accept me for who I am behind the jewelry and in the end find it rather interesting and/or satisfying. I tell all of them it was something I did out of curiosity, as it was, they understand, and some believe oral sex is improved while others do not even notice. It is not the tongue or the ring, but the connection between two people. This is a personal choice and everyone is entitled to their own opinion I understand, but I do not think that the majority of us who have made the choice to have a needle stuck through our tongue appreciate comments telling us how disgusting or negative a choice it may be. We all take risks at some points in our lives... one of mine happened to be that my tongue may get infected just for a little decor, silly to some; unique and appealing to others. Please accept that everyone makes decisions about these types of things based on their own opinions and do not judge someone for something unless you have truly experienced both sides. If we would all take even a few extra moments to hear the argument of the ones opposing us we would all be that much wiser and get along that much more. I refuse to argue with anyone about the yes' and nos, risks and safeties, or rights and wrongs of such a personal choice. But I will always take the time to hear their opinion IF THEY HAVE LOGICAL AND RESPECTFUL SUPPORT FOR IT. We can all learn amazing things from each other if we simply take the time.
I wish you all success and happiness as you may perceive it...
