Paavo Nurmi is certainly one of the greatest ever, but for best distance runner of all time, you have to vote for an East African. An East African such as Kenenisa Bekele or Haile Gebrselassie. I am shocked that Geb is not on this list! This list is missing so many runners, for instance Emil Zatopek who won triple gold in the 1952 Olympics in the 5K,10K, and marathon. When he won the marathon, that was the first time he ran it! This list is also missing Henry Rono. Henry Rono is a Kenyan who set three world records in eighty days in the 3K, 5K, and 10K!  This list is also missing Daniel Komen. Daniel Komen is a Kenyan who currently holds the world records in the 3K(7:20) and the two mile(7:59).

Snell was not a distance runner, per se, because his longest competitive distance was the mile.  He's a middle distance runner, and one of the best of all time, holding three world's records at one time or another.  But, looking over this list, where's Emil Zatopek?  After all, he is the only man ever to win Gold Medals in the 5,000m, 10,000m and marathon in the same Olympics.

Yifter the Shifter won double gold at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow in the 5 and 10K. He beat Viren in the 10K, Viren must not have blood doped that day.....

When Kenenisa Bekele's career is over, he will be the best distance runner ever. He won double gold in the Olympics last year and holds the world records in the 5K(12:36) and 10K(26:17) and he is a world cross country champion twelve times I believe. Right now, Haile Gebrselassie is the best distance runner ever, he holds TWENTY-FIVE world records!

Who the hell rated Pre a five!? Pre is nowhere near the best of all time! Pre is not even in the top fifty of all time! Pre has ZERO Olympic golds and ZERO world records! Pre has lost all of the American records he held, I believe. Just because you people have seen "Without Limits" or own something from Nike with his face on it does not mean he is the best!
