I think "Great" as the highest level of rating under-values what this Vet is offering.
"Excellent" is more appropriate. Dr. Sheffield is personable, caring, kind, intuitive and devoted to the welfare of animals (and their owners!). No ego dance here, just good doctoring.
Dr. Sheffield has the training and years of experience with conventional veterinary medicine PLUS training and years of experience with alternative veterinary healthcare. (I examined all of her credentials in the waiting room). The combination is superb.
Dr. Sheffield, fortunately, makes no claims to "fix" anything, but, rather, engages the pet and their owner/trustees in co-formulating an wholistic healthcare plan for the benefit of the pet. I personally have found her approach very empowering of my own desire to provide the best and most enjoyable life for my aging dog. Her plans with us included: diet changes, homeopathic remedies, laser therapy, meridian point and energy work, a great sense of humor and honest and lively conversation.
We brought our pet in not because of an acute emergency, but because he had suffered a series of setbacks over the year (emergency surgeries and conventional antibiotics that left his immune system depleted and that had translated into a lot of environmental allergies). We wanted to get him back on the right track so he could enjoy more fully his elder years. The kind of work Dr. Sheffield offers is wonderful for our concerns, as the methods she uses are designed to subtlely, yet powerfully, over time, enhance the quality of life for animals. Dr. Sheffield also met and worked with our currently "non-patient" younger dog and we are employing her methods to ensure that she has a long and happy life, too.
Dr. Sheffield provides an enormous amount of healthcare, information and education for your time and money. A visit with her is a very worthwhile "bang for your buck." She can get you on the right track so that your pet does not become acutely sick in the future, (or, if it does, that it is in a good, overall healthy condition to withstand unfortunate accidents and illnesses), thus saving you lots of future money in conventional vet bills.
We are very pleased with her services and would highly recommend her to anyone with a pet they love and whose life-long health and enjoyment they care about.
