Buyer Beware!!!!! We recently learned the hard way that Buddy's practice is to advertise a high quality carpet at a reasonable cost, then order a cheaper carpet in it's place, hoping you won't catch once it's delivered.
We did a random check of carpet samples in their Beavercreek store and found quite a few misrepresented samples. In several instances they had two carpet samples on one card and advertised the thicker more plush carpet at a lower price than the thin flimsey ones. When we chose a thick carpet, they actually wrote up an order for the thin one for us but charged us for the price on the thick one. They said whoops that was a mistake. .. but I don't think so. One or two samples that were mislabled might be a mistake; But four or five is BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!! There were at least five incorrect tags on their carpet samples that we found.
Our sad tale began last November when we purchased berber carpet that fell apart within 6 months; We were told when we purchased it that berber carpet lasts forever and is practically indistructable. Not so. There is a seam in front of our fireplace that is fraying. There are little pieces of carpet pulling up all over, that we must cut off with scissors and is leaving little holes all over.
When we went back to Buddy's in Beavercreek to have the carpet replaced (which they wouldn't give us credit for our defective carpet they would only sell us a new carpet at cost, what a deal!) That's when we noticed all the mislabled carpet samples.
I really feel sorry for all the unsuspecting consumers they have bilked out of their hard earned money. Hopefully this post will serve as a warning to help others.
We lost about $800 and three long days of trying to get it all straightened out. It's been a nightmare.
