I goofed when replying to the other persons review and can't seem to delete my mistake! I think my kennel is great! We work very hard to please our clients and have thousands of very happy clients over the past 11 years!! I have written a response to the other review and hope anyone who reads it will realize just how much we love and care for people's furry family members!!

I had an encounter with Alex Bell Clinic while rescuing a puppy whose leg had been broken. Then, I heard a rumor that this clinic was up to all of the no good that one reviewer (who has obviously written multiple reviews, as if she was several people. . .the voice and wording are identical from one of her reviews to the next) accuses them of.

As a rescuer, I felt obligated to investigate these claims myself, and I can tell you that one of her most basic accusations is absolutely false, leading me to believe the rest of her story to be highly suspect.

This vet who is so inaccessible called me back within an hour of my phone call expressing concern over these rumors. Dr. Diehl and I spoke for nearly two hours, and I believe his story to be the more accurate one. The rescue stories he told not only sounded entirely genuine, but a worker who is also a rescuer substantiated his claims. She has been employed there for over a year.

Please observe carefully, do your own research and draw conclusions based on your own information, not the rants of one former employee. There are many vets top choose from, and I am neither recommending or not recommending this one, simply stating that you should not rule them out based on a single voice.I had an encounter with Alex Bell Clinic while rescuing a puppy whose leg had been broken. This October we left our dog at The Pet Shack Resort for eight days. When we picked him up we learned that they had doubled one of the seizure prevention medications he gets for epilepsy. He was very groggy, and during his stay we think he fell and reinjured a hip that he has had problems with in the past (likely because he was so groggy from the overdose). Anyone who has dealt with epileptic dogs knows that they are very sensitive to their medication. As of now it is two weeks later and our dog is still not right. We also were able to determine that they doubled a second pill (just a vitamin) by the fact that they ran out during his stay. They should have had enough for the entire time, but ran out after 4 days.

We are very concerned about our dog's health, so whenever we leave him somewhere we are always very careful to explain his medication. When I picked him up on a Saturday I asked for the owner to call me when she got back in the following week. She did not call Monday, and I attempted to call The Pet Shack several times Tuesday with no answer. I finally left a message Tuesday night and then talked to the owner on Wednesday. Her first reaction was to blame us. During our conversation she was very rude (raising her voice and interrupting me several times), and the called ended with her hanging up on me. It's bad enough that they messed up our dog's medication and health, but the poor customer service on top of it just adds insult to injury.

I have no ulterior motives for warning people about the (lack of) care presented by this clinic, nor am I a "young kid" who doesn't know any better. I am an experienced veterinary professional, who prides myself on remaining ethical and compassionate. I know of at least 5 other veterinary professionals who would give you the same story about Alex Bell. Just because a former employee speaks out about a business does not mean they are up to something....the employees know better than anyone what is going on at a business!!! You don't get fired from Alex Bell...you quit, and are a bit disillusioned from the experience. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/22 /ripoff0228127.htm Every word is true! Trust your pets with another veterinarian in this area! They are plenty to choose from!

One always has to wonder what the ulterior motives are for former employees and how much they stretch the truth...most of them are young kids that don't realize that this IS a business and needs to be operated as such. If clinics didn't charge for services they would go out of business and those "former" employees wouldn't have a job to begin with. I have known the owner for about 15 years and have nothing but respect for him and how he has treated my animals. He and his staff have always treated my animals with care and concern. As far as the person that said the animals don't get to go out, I have come in to pick up my pets and have seen both of them out in the yard area having a wonderful time. Yes, they vets don't always remember their names but who could if you were seeing hundreds of animals a week? The folks and their pets that have been coming in for a longer period of time, they remember. If they were as awful as some of these people have said I don't believe my pets would have lived (8 and counting) to be well over 10 years of age- one even made it to 19. I have known many other veterinarians that are really bad (downright scary in fact) from this area and none of them have been at Alex-Bell

After reading the other reviews I guess I have to disagree and actually wonder where these people found their information. I have used this business for many years with many different pets, and can actually say that they are extremely caring of both clients and their pets. As with any business today, there are turnovers in employees, but this business has many long time employees and friendly faces that remember your name and your pet when you call or come in. They actually try to keep my costs down while at the same time explain options that I am at liberty to choose or not. The building is spotless, both inside and outside as well as my pets when I pick them up. They are always excited to walk in the door, which is a testament to me of their care. I have to wonder who was writing the previous comments and if they would be happy anywhere.

I have read the other reviews here; and honestly I do not agree with them. I have been a customer of this wonderful clinic for over 13 years. In that time I have had 3 dogs who have received vet care, surgery, boarding and grooming services. Prior to that my mother and my sister have both brought their dog and cat to the clinic. Like any organization that provides a service, there are good days and bad. The staff of a vet clinic if faced consoling customers who face grief through loss of their loved ones. While I was always close to my doctor at the clinic (she was simply tremendous in showing attention and detail when examining or taking care of my miniature schnauzer) nothing was more heart wrenching for me when having to say goodbye to him after he turned 15 years of age due to liver problems. I can tell you, I was mess. I could not even face coming inside. I sat in the parking lot crying, and called the clinic staff on my cell phone. They came out to the parking lot and assisted me in a very heartbreaking moment and supported me and assisted me. The staff followed up with daily phone calls checking in with me. The doctors took the time to explain all of my options for handling his body, etc.. I still have 2 dogs (both German Shepherds) and the staff know me well, take excellent care of me, spend time visiting both dogs and petting them when I come in for exams. Like for yourself, choosing a doctor for your animals is a very personal decision. You entrust your animal(s) in their care. I can honestly say that the quality of care and attention, and the relationship this staff have provided me, is outstanding. It is so easy to make a complaint, but it takes a truly satisfied customer to go out of their way to write something positive in today's world. Thanks Alex Bell. Mark S. with Casey and Baron

Alex-Bell treated our dog for several years. Initially, their tests showed that her thyroid level was low. They prescribed thyroid medication to treat the problem, and should have done periodic testing to monitor her thyroid level. For over 6 years afterword they never tested her thyroid level, or recommended the testing of her thyroid level to us. During that period we refilled her thyroid medication many times. After about 6 years, she developed a heart murmur that was very advanced, and was very likely caused by a thyroid level that had been dangerously high (the opinion of another clinic). A few months later she was so sick that we had to have her put to sleep. As you might expect, Alex-Bell accepted no responsibility for her premature death. Alex-Bell should be AVOIDED.
