I was waiting for a delivery that I needed that day and had been advised by the company sending it that it would be that day. I have no phone so borrowed my neighbor's portable phone and wrote a note to put downstairs on the apartment building's doorbell system to please ring my neighbor's apt. for my delivery, and signed my name. So later I went downstairs to pick up the mail and saw UPS had left a nearly blank notice that this was their "first attempt." They did not ring at all. I was there the whole day. They also did not put the time of this attempt, nor did they say when their next attempt would be, nor where I could pick it up in person and when. A person may need the delivery immediately so this should be plainly noted every time they leave a notice. But they did not need to leave the notice; they needed to ring the apt. that I asked them to. I did sign my name, and if they needed an I.D. I would've been happy to give them one. I complained to their Website but so far no one has replied to the message. They need to try a little harder and remember that there are times when people leave notices for THEM to deliver to a certain place.

My passion is not for marketing. It’s for fiction writing, for story-telling, and for working as a teacher and coach to aspiring writers. As a small business owner, marketing is a necessity. Once I have a customer I know how to deliver so they come back for more. But how, I used to ask, does one get new customers? Everything I now know about effective marketing I’ve learned from Rick Rochon. His business-generating and sustaining advice has worked to fill my classes and has also resulted in clearer communication with my target client. His passion for effective marketing allows me to live mine.

Ape Do Good does a nice job. We use them for our Hello Demon Star t-shirts, and the quality and price are both very competitive.

I wish they took Amex though.

The Mission location is by and far the best UPS Store I've ever visited. Their service is fast, helpful and friendly unlike most shipping company retail locations like Fedex or any of the other UPS stores in San Francisco.

My first visit here stemmed from the need to pack and ship a large, fragile and unique item (fused art glass). I visited four different retail shipping locations (fedex, USPS and UPS) and ultimately selected this location to ship the piece. All the other places quoted a price of at least $100 more based upon intentionally inefficient packing services (in the case of the other UPS location) or outrageous insurance costs (in the case of fedex and the USPS). Additionally, service at all these other places ranged from embittered and resentful to outright deceptive. In contrast, the family who runs this UPS store went above and beyond, taking photos to document the piece prior to packing. The package arrived on the East Coast a few days later in pristine condition.

Since that occasion, the Mission UPS store is my go-to place whenever I need to ship something. It's relatively easy to find street parking out front during the day, and I'm always in and out within 5-10 minutes.

Ape Do Good is downright awesome.

First of all, and often the most important for smaller runs: They're cheap! Significantly cheaper than other shops in the city, in fact. There were no hidden charges... The price quoted was exactly what we paid.

The quality is stellar. Art placement and ink color were exactly as expected. My design was fairly simple so I opted not to pay extra for a press check, but I believe they have that service available if needed.

They're damn fast. A small run (50 shirts, 2-color front & back) was complete and ready for pickup in about 2 days with no additional rush charge.

They're super responsive and helpful. Helen got back to me with quotes within minutes of submitting a request online and following subsequent email requests for more quotes and other information. In relation to getting quotes from other companies, Ape Do Good's process was completely painless.

Helen and Anthony were both extra-nice to top it all off. I'll definitely use Ape Do Good for all my custom printing in the future.

Kinko's is hit or miss on service because the employees have deadlines on projects. The service I got here was good. Granted it was Noon on a Sunday. I needed to print some business cards because I forgot mine at home and it was too late to overnight them. Service right away, printed on the right paper and she apologized for not being able to cut them for me but they did have a cutter for me to use. They look legit for cutouts.

Peter is awesome. The backlight on my iMac monitor went out, and I didn't have any luck with the Mac store. I found Peter on Google, and he was able to track down a replacement monitor for a total of $150 (including labor) and had the thing back to me as good as new in 48 hours.

What a relief... it would have been a shame to scrap such a gorgeous computer with a good hardrive just because of the backlight, but that's exactly what the folks at Mac Store and Geek Squad suggested I do.
