1-Terrible is way too high a number.
I was penalized for renting a car from this idiotic owner Doug Stacey. We never met, never even had a discussion on the phone, and this idiot verbally abuses me after giving him nearly $300 in business. Verbally abuse a paying customer? Go figure.. Their BBB report has 4 complaints in the past year and 14 in the past 3 years, most other Rent a Wreck locations have zero, some have one complaint. I am open for ideas to get my issue with them resolved. I know there are many other car rental victims of this agency so I am looking for support from them. Thanks for your help

Verbally Abusive Owner:
This customer calls owner to address concerns of car rental. The owner interrupts stating anyone who runs out of gas is not too bright, I know that area well and I don't buy your story. Owner hangs up. The customer calls back immediately and is told the owner is no longer in the office.
This customer writes five page letter addressing concerns. Phone messages not returned. Customer calls again and attempts to communicate with owner. The owner's voice is hostile and is unwilling again to listen to the customer. The owner's language is laced with the 'f' word, refers to customer as an A-- H--- ends by saying F--- My A-- and hangs up.
Customer No-service:
Failure of company to return customer calls in timely manner while customer was stranded after-hours, despite providing an after-hours phone number.
Car stalls with check engine and check oil lights on after driving only 82.5 miles, with gas level indicator above 'E'. The tow company/car body shop suggests customer call the car rental company. Customer agrees, due to possible engine damage, safety, and out of respect for company's product. Customer spends that night of vacation at car body shop waiting for return call. The owner/company does not return calls till the next day, stating the warning sensors are not actually warning anything, the gas gauge is not correct due to different gas tanks sizes and that the car is out of gas

Ignition key release working less than 50%
Windshield washer fluid mechanism not functioning
Failure to properly disclose rates and fees at time of phone reservation
No mention of only 100 free miles at time of PHONE reservation. Customer was not informed until at the office. If the customer declined, vacation probably would have been jeopardized.
