Four plates.
Cheap, reasonable amount of machines, free weights (tops off at 60 pounds for dumbbells). Olympic bars/plates. Has everything that the usual Gold's has at one quarter the price in most cases, including Smith Machines. Far too many treads, bikes and stair steppers, but that's a minor complaint. Remove a few thousand and add additional machines. Equipment is new and well kept.
Silly "lunk alarm" has got to go as do the pizza nights. The issue with weight dropping is a frequent one at any gym so any complaints here are not unusual. Sorry PF, but grunting is an integral part of lifting. Drop the attitude and focus on the "'roid boys".
Not much for health drinks and/or supplements, but you're better off buying those online and bringing it to the gym anyway. Far cheaper and, of course, a better selection.
No sauna or steam room. I can do without both as well as no yoga, pilates, etc.
Generally has $99 specials, which considering the cost of gym memberships at places like FitCorp and BSC, is outstanding though BSC does have raquetball and hoop courts among other amenities and the Federal St FC has an indoor track or at least used too.
If they increase the weight restriction, which they won't, or add more machines, goes to a five. Stacking dumbbells will take care of the first problem, though technically it's not allowed and you're liable to get bounced if caught.
Update: adjusted dumbbell weight limit from 80 to 60. Stretching is available in the PF Express area; removed incorrect passage.
