St. James Missionary Baptist Church is a very nice church. The Pastor and members are very friendly. They make everyone feel welcome. Their motto is "St. James is large enough to serve you and small enough to know you". I recommend that if you are in the Jefferson Park area and are looking to enjoy a spirit filled, Bible teaching church, then St. James is the place!

Under the truly inspired direction of the Rev. Dr. Clara Mosley, this little church offers a unique brand of mind expanding, heart opening, soul uplifting religious experience.

I've been a member all my life (since the womb). Officially at 8 years old. Bapti-costal to the core before "Full Gospel" was in vogue.

Very kind and insightful... Not into religious fanaticism. More of a philosophy than religion.

One of the first female clergy in the Diocese. Has lots of carisma and enthusiam and slips in some humor as well She makes sure you are acknowledged whenever you visit her parish.

A trully ecclectic design of a Byzantine Church, with a simple California style exterior.

I grew up in the City Terrace Mennonite Brethren Church. My dad pastored the church in the 1960's and again in the 70's. I lived in the cracker box parsonage (now sunday school rooms) during my Jr. high (Belevdere) and High School (Roosevelt)years. We lived there when the church was remodeled. Names that come to mind are: Alverez, Padilla, Bush (John where are you) Steele, Chavez, Willems (us), Scott Martin, Johnson and many more. The name of the church has changed now, it serves the Latinos (still) with a Latino pastor. Still a beacon in a lost world.
