Hi all,
Just moved to Mexico, the experience was very en-lighting, not hard to do, and different from the horror stories that many warned me about.
Surfed the internet on how to move to Mexico and looked for International movers to make it possible. Found that some big companies not only were high priced and slow to deliver, but also did not seem to know the process. When I asked them, they had to get back to me on a later date with the answers, that made me uncomfortable. To cross they use the Texas border, going South into Mexico using the Durango road, witch is very narrow, often not well kept, filled with high mountains, deep cliffs and curves. There is even a section on it called Espinazo del Diablo or Devil's back to describe how dangerous it really is. No way I would risk having all my earthly possessions go on that road. Also read about some smaller movers, they seem concerned on how many cubic feet of things I had. I found out why, the reason was because they only used small trucks with not much room, and all my belongings would NOT fit in them. Their delivery date was tentative, and not binding. Could only find one posted unverifiable testimonial on their company.
Later, I saw lots of verifiable testimonials, and on many sites about this International mover called movingtomexicoguy
I contacted Robert Hudson, right away he sent me a very complete sheet with everything you need when moving to Mexico. He knew the correct answers to what ever I threw at him, he even gave me several moving options.
Picked up my things in Houston, the took them to Nogales. Help me acquire the FM3 rentista for my wife and I plus the Menaje de Casa at the Consulate, in just a few hours. Loaded the Semi that by the way was 48' long.
movingtomexicoguy is very knowledgeable and reasonable priced, most efficient, he also express delivered my things safely with out any problem. He is present during the entire move, and very good at what he does.
I highly recommend Robert Hudson for moving folks from the United States to Mexico, and back to the States.
Check out his site www.movingtomexicoguy.com
Love the sun and the weather, Mexico is paradise.

I lived here from September 2008 to May 2009. The building's character certainly compliments the building's characters. The Kipling is in the heart of Koreatown and situated between, as my Hispanic and Latino friends informed me, the territories of the C-14 and 18th Street gangs. This was never an issue for me until one of my last weeks there when I was held up at gun point, but got out of it unscathed and only losing an Ipod. Being built in the 20's, the Kipling's classic charm creates a surreal contrast between itself and the strips of 1-level Korean storefronts and discount clothing stores. This being said, there are few times in my life that I can remember experiencing such an exuberant display of life than the many walks I took east down 3rd Street around dusk. Being a 23 year old white man from New Hampshire living in Los Angeles alone after graduating from a college no one has ever heard of with a degree in film production, I was more than a little out of place but I really embraced my time there. I became friends with the cockroaches that infested my "efficiency unit" and the wannabe hustlers and drug addicts that drifted down the hallways. Every night I fell asleep to the muted wailing that escaped the Korean karaoke bar next door and woke up to my downstairs neighbor hitting every note of a recognizable Chopin or Bach tune. I went out there to write, but I wrote very little. Looking back, I was only gaining experiences to write about in the future. A great place if you can appreciate it for it's dark and haunting beauty. Koreatown is so Los Angeles and so not Hollywood.

This was the worst rental car experience in my life.  This is how it starts, large nice bus picks you up at the apirport, so far so good.  We get dropped off at a run down rental car place with the a/c barely working.  We stood in line for 45 minutes while the "staff" just kept walking around looking busy but not really doing anything. Some customers had stood at the help desk with the agent for over 1/2 hour just to get a car.      Ok , So we get to the counter- we can't understand the girl , very poor english.  We booked our car with Carrentals.com-  Don't do it !   We paid for the insurance from them and dollar tried to bully us into paying for there car insurance also.  Finally keys to a car 1hour and 15 minutes after we get dropped off and are all sweeting now.    Go out to the garage and get our car-  load it up drive to the gate and a RUDE woman says did you check for damage because you will be responsible !  Ok what does that mean ???   Get out and get handed a slip and you inspect the car and write down everything wrong with it. I had it back to the lovely woman and asked if this was good, I got a Yup.     The car was a Dodge Callibur- Piece of junk get any other car.  Oh by the way if you don't return the car with a full tank they charge you 8.00 per gallon !!     We returned the car 5 days later,  Guess what the charges were wrong, had to go stand in line again. The manager is not sure how that happened and refunded the 85.00 to our card !     PEOPLE   GO  TO  ANOTHER RENTAL CAR COMPANY   DOLLAR   RENT A CAR AT  LAX  ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY AND THEN TRIES TO RIP YOU OFF!

My wife and I rented a car from allstate in the lax area for one week in August 2009. We were completely satisfied with the service and the car, and were particularly happy about the price. The rental for our compact for one week was $229, bottom line. That was less than half the cost of any other rental agent in the LAX area. The shuttle service from the airport to their location, just a short ride from the terminal, was easy and prompt. I highly recommend this agency.

This was by far one of the worst experiences we have ever had renting a car. We went through 3 cars before we got one that had air conditioning. All three were absolutely filthy! I took Clorox wipes to sanitize the thing before we could even get in the car. No one was there to drop off the car, we had to wait at the airport to be picked up. the stress of the whole thing was certainly not worth the savings! Never again!

NEVER EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Car is filthy, dirty and not in a very good shape. Staff are the worst most unfriendliest people in the planet. They will make a run for your money

No one there to give us the car, and we had to wait 40 minutes until someone finally showed up. Then no one was there during drop off, when we were ASSURED there would be. The directions for drop-off were unclear and told us to call the manager...who never bothered to pick up the phone. Had to get a cab to make it to the airport on time.

Don't set yourself up for unneeded stress. Avoid at all costs.

This location is terrible-they didnt credit us for giving them more gas then tried to double charging us for a super small truck rental. The 'owner' just ignore comments and questions I had as well as the employees.....
