This is a new business. I am an instructor here teaching Filipino, Malaysian, Indonesian arts in Chicago. I wanted to publicly say that my experience with this academy has been one of grea friendship and association.

There is an outpouring of parents every other evening, because of the newer classes. It is exciting to see how the families and friends can feel confident about us teaching their kin.

I am glad to be part of this group.

A wonderful school. Great instructors--they're friendly but firm and great teachers. The members are also friendly and fun. Ages range from little kids (3 or 4) up to adults; sometimes parents of kids participate in class too.

Edgebrook was closed for the winter and had reopened.  Fred and his foursome were out playing the first round of the year, when all of a sudden,  a large funeral procession was moving down Central Avenue.  Fred was in mid-swing, stopped, took off his cap, and bowed his head and knee.

"Wow," his friend exclaimed.  "You sure have a lot of respect for funerals!"

"Yeah," replied Fred.  "I was married to her for forty-two years."

Classes are fun and challenging. Everyone works together and helps each other out, so it feels like we are one big kung fu family

This school is great. The instructors are great, patient and they explain in full detail what you are doing. This school is NOT pushy as other schools in trying to sell you all kinds of stuff. They allow you to try it for a few weeks and if you like it, you enroll, if not its ok.

This is the only Ki Society school in the Chicago area. It's instructor Jon Eley has over forty years of experience in Aikido. They have moved to Evanston by the Main St. Purple Line/Northwestern Station and meet twice a week at the Hememway United Methodist Church, 933 Chicago Av. Evanston, IL 60202. If you've ever wondered about Ki, Chi or Qi, drop by and see how they do it. Eley Sensei has also worked with Tai Chi players and helped them develop this particuliar sense of movement. Chang's Martial Arts Fitness Studio is a great place to work out and train both body and mind. Chang's offers a variety of programs which one can try out before signing up for a class. Such programs are tailored to each invividual's needs and students range from six year old Tae Kwon Do students through adulthood. Master Lanre has an impeccable Matial arts background in Tae Kwon Do (the way of the foot and hand). His dicipline, beliefs, and integrity are contagious and well worth catching. This studio offers a comfortable environment where the whole family can work out together, learn from one another and have fun doing it. Master Lanre and the rest of the instructors play key roles in the development of children and adults not only from a Tae Kwon Do/Martial arts point but also from an every day life perspective. I enrolled my son, A.K.A. Mr Cool, in the childrens Tae Kwon Do class several years ago. Within weeks I began to notice significant differences in the way my sons personality changed. He appeared to be more confident and applied himself better in school. His social skills and patience levels also improved drastically. I knew then that this was something special and I could not let him have all the fun so I joined the adults class. Today we continue to practice and motivate each other, but most important it has created the perfect opportunity to spend time together building a stronger father and child relationship.
