I made the mistake of buying a dress from this shop. I stopped in while I was in Cincinnati for a business trip just to look around and get some ideas. I ended up finding a dress that I really liked and probably would have bought, but the saleswoman (Connie) was so pushy that I ended up walking out. She called a week later to tell me the dress was "on sale" through the weekend for $1850 from $2200, and so I caved and ordered it from her, against my better judgment. I ended up having to get the dress shortened at another bridal shop that sells it closer to where I live and was told that if it had been ordered hollow to hem then I wouldn't have needed to get it shortened. I decided to call and let Connie know that she should tell customers of that option (she didn't tell me), and she proceeded to lie to me that because I'm taller than 5'3" that this was impossible. I verified with the shop where it's being altered that there was no height cutoff. And the "sale" that I bought the dress on? Again, I checked with the shop I am getting it altered at and they are selling it regularly priced for $100 less!

I have 2 family members (my parents) currently at Llanfair in the skilled nursing center. I feel very comfortable every day that I leave there and know that they are in good hands. The staff is very caring and wonderful. The review rating it a 1 star sounds like a disgruntled nasty ex-employee. Llanfair is the very best facility around!

I went to this store and was told that all of the dresses on the second floor were $99. When I went to pay the manager kept watching over associate. (Rude behavior.) The associate said 426.00. I told them that the girl upstairs said that all the dresses upstairs were $99. The manager rudely jumped in and flipped the price tag over to show me red lettering of "No Discount." I had seen the tag, but the sales associate specificly said that ALL of the dresses upstairs were $99. They offered to go get a different dress, not even knowing what my daughter had tried on. Didn't even alpologize. This was not appropriate. The manager informed me that this dress was a special order and she just put it upstairs a few days ago. This dress shouldn't have been placed upstairs, if it wasn't to be $99.00. I have a hard time believing that out of the thousands of dresses they have, that I would pick the only dress that was not the sale price. It was my understanding that if a dress is "special ordered" it is to be paid for up front. I feel that their actions were totally unacceptable. They should have had to sell it to me for the price I was quoted.
They were contacted and their response was that basicly that I "misunderstood". They are a terrible company. I had considered contacting them, but after searching the net, realized that they would just upset me more, so I filed a complaint with the OH BBB. They still offered no resolution. They said that I read the tag that said "No Discount". The associate specifically stated that all of the prom gowns on that floor were $99.00. She didn't say "unless marked" or any "excepts". She helped us pick that gown to buy. My daughter tried on all of the dresses for her. The associate was a sweet girl. I know that she didn't know it wasn't to cost more or they were trying to pull one over on me. They say that to pre-order it is not their policy to require payment up front, but a local store owner next to them, told me that was what they require.
Buyers BEWARE........there is no such thing of rights for the consumer there. Shame on them. They upset my daughter so much. Once they find "The Dress:" they want nothing else.
I found another dress online for 99 + 18.00 to express ship. It was made by the same designer. Different color, but well worth it and they were awesome!!! The site was : www.promgirl.com
This was for an 8th grade dance and I would never had taken my 14yr. old there, but I had taken my 18yr. old there for her prom dress. I knew that they had a large variety. That is why we went there. I have news for them........My little girl will have numerous more occassions where she will need a formal and I won't be shopping with them!

In all honesty, the staff at this store is horrible to work with. I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from there and they had the girls input their measurements for an appropriate size. Well, my dresses came in and did not fit a single girl. We remeasured everyone, no one had changed sizes, but their charts and ordering process is completely wrong. I also know of 2 other people (close friends) who have had this same problem. They are always overly busy and rude when you are in the store, and extremely judgemental. The store is also filthy and very unorganized, with not a lot of staff available to help with your needs. When I had my problem with my bridesmaids, they were not helpful in the slightest and charged us for extra fabric and had the NERVE to want us to alter our dress through them. Yea right. I think you should look elsewhere in Cincinnati, as this store has no clue how to treat a customer. I would never recommend the horrible experience I went through to anyone. Luckily another store down the street helped us out even though we did not work with them directly. SHOP ELSEWHERE! GET THE EXPERIENCE YOU DESERVE!

When I purchased a bridemaid's dress for my friend's wedding in January of this year I was sized and measured by a consultant at the store. They did not have very many sizes larger than a twelve for me to try on in order to know what size I am. Since I was in between sizes the consultant suggested that I get the smaller size because the style of dress had more than enough fabric to let out to fit me. She said that was better for me to do that than to order the next size up and it be too big on me everywhere else. I ordered that size trusting her advice and paid for my dress. As you do so they casually ask you to sign on the line so they can order your dress. LADIES BE CAREFUL! DON'T SIGN IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO! READ EVERYTHING ON THE SHEET! THIS IS A CONTRACT! In the contract it states they will not exchange or refund your money no matter what the circumstances. This clears them of having to do anything further. When the dress arrived in June it did not fit me the way I was assured it would. They assured me again that it would fit after the alterations. I was very worried and they told me they would not have suggested for me to do that if it would not work. At alterations last week the seamstress said there was not enough fabric and she needed at least seven more inches. She stated that I should have ordered a bigger size. When I called them at the store while at her shop they immediately disagreed still standing on thier belief that those dresses have enough material to let out. They did not want to help me at all on the phone and did not seem to care at all. I went to the store the next day. The owner and the supervisor were rude, arrogant, snobby & said that it was my opinon that I was instructed to order that size. The supervisor kept rolling her eyes. They did not want to accomidate me at all to fix a problem thier store caused. They stated that I agreed to that size when I signed the contract. They would not own up to the responsiblity that it was thier fault. The owner would not refund my money stating that under no circumstance will they EVER refund anyone's money. At first they would not even order me a bigger size. They said that was not in the contract to make exchanges. The owner called the seamstress in thier pink pages a liar! He said that it was impossible for her to need that much fabric. In the end after fighting with them they did order me another size that was two sizes bigger. They said they were going above and beyond the contract in doing that giving me the attitude that I should be more than satisified with that. My mother told him that she was extremely dissapointed in how poor the customer service is there and how badly we were treated that she was going to contact the better business bereau. The Owner of the store got mad at her and threw the dress at her. He asked her why would we want to run thier company name in the mud. It seems to me that he is doing a fine job of that on his own. I will never do business with them again. I don't recommend them. They are very confident recommending to you that there is enought material in the dress to let out when there really isn't. They seem to be lying to all thier customers this way. Be very careful when dealing with them. To them you are just a contract. Once you sign it they got you and they don't have to do anything further for you.

For years our whole family has used this dry cleaner and never had any major problems, but in the last 6 months our clothing has come back in worse shape than when we took it in. The last 2 times has been horrible!! My father took in 4 brand new top quatily long sleeved shirts and asked if they had anyone who could alter the sleeves and make them short. They used one of his shirts (short sleeved) and measured how long to make the sleeves. The tag on the shirt said "alter sleeves to 6"." When he went to wear one of the shirts, he discovered they were so short they didnt even cover his shoulders. After looking at the shirts I discovered all 4 of them were the same. The seamstress had measured the inseam origionally, but when she altered the sleeves she cut the outside seam to 6", thus leaving the inseam about 1". So Dads $80.00 shirts , needless to say, are good for nothing but rags now. When I looked at the rest of his drycleaning, I found that all but one of his shirts he had taken in the past 6 months has wrinkles pressed (heavy starch)into them. Also all of his jeans were pressed off center and had wrinkles, some as wide as 3 inches, pressed into them. What the heck? How can these mistakes be made? Furthermore how does a business like this stay in business? So, tomorrow I will attempt to have them make good on the clothes they ruined, somehow though I get the feeling that I wont get very far!

I would absolutely not recommend Vanover Cleaners to anyone. They are extremely rude and unprofessional plus they do terrible alterations. I took my coat there to be dry cleaned and took some suit jackets there to be altered (sleeves shortened). When I arrived to pickup my clothing, only one of the jackets was completed. When I got home, I noticed that the sleeves were completely crooked. I called Vanover the next morning to tell them that I was going to come and pick up my other 4 jackets. I explained that I wanted to take them somewhere else to be altered and explained the crooked sleeves on the jacket that they had "altered." I was told that I had to pay for the alterations anyway (they didn't make me pay for the first jacket that I picked up the day before - they told me I could pay for all 5 when I picked up the other 4). I arrived at the Vanover about an hour later to pick up my other 4 jackets. They told me that they had already started on my other 4 jackets, which consisted of ripping the seams out of the sleeves, I was told that I could not have my 4 jackets back until I paid full price for the jacket with the crooked sleeves and 3/4 of the price for the jackets that had not been altered, but had the seams ripped out of them! I explained that I was more than happy to pay the dry cleaning price for the coat, but that I should not have to pay for the alterations because now I was left with 5 jackets that I was not able to wear and I would have to pay someone else to fix. The woman at the store was extremely rude to me, refused to return my items until I paid her over $70 for one jacket with crooked sleeves and 4 jackets that now had the seams ripped out of them but had not been altered. In addition, I noticed that there was an ashtray full of cigarette butts on a table behind the front desk in the back area. This back area is where they have all of their customers clothing hanging. I found this, along with the rudeness of the staff, extremely unprofessional. Under no circumstances would I ever go to Vanover Cleaners again and I would never ever recommend them to anyone.

I just moved from New York, while there, I never had a problem with my dry clnrs. I found Appearance Plus Clnrs close to my house. The first time I used them, they lost a ribbon for my sweater. The second time they lost the cufflinks for a brand new shirt. I had only worn it once! When I called to find out about the cufflinks, nobody seemed to care for my problem.
I have somebody elses blazer that was sent back with my clothes.
