I am writing this review as one of The Pet Spot owners. The Pet Spot is the best place to bring your dog or cat. I bring my dogs there and that was our goal when we built The Pet Spot. We wanted to create a place where we felt comfortable leaving our babies. We have certainly accomplished that goal. With live web cams throughout the facility, spacious accomodations for boarding, and a staff that truly cares about my dogs, I am proud of the business that we have built.

This place never ceases to amaze me. This morning I took my father's dog there to be groomed (you have to have the animal there before 10:00), I waited 50 minutes to tell them I was there for grooming. The girl that waited on me, with stringy blonde hair was rude and a total b****. She then informed me that the "groomer" wasn't in yet and made me sit there. After 20 minutes a young man that works there asked me if I was waiting for the groomer, when I said yes, he said she wasn't there yet but we could go ahead and put the dog in the kennel and leave the grooming instructions on the clipboard.

Believe me I would never take my dog there, I've put up with their B.S. enough, but my dad wants his dog to go there. I think he got a little scared when I was gone almost 1 1/2 hours, just to drop off the dog and I think he's starting to think maybe we should go to Park Hills Animal Hospital.

The place also is filthy and the staff won't even look you in the eye. I guess they think you'll "ask" something of them.

If you're new to the area or have a new pet, you might want to reconsider using this place.

I will NEVER do business there again after the manager on duty at noon on Thursday Jan 15th was so rude to me.
I had an iguana from Jacks Aquarium and Pets. She was given to me and my kids as a gift on mothers day last spring. I fell in love with the lil iguana. She was just a baby. She was cute and alert and just had a really cute personality.
The sales people at Jacks NEVER educated the buyer on proper care for her, I had never had one before so i was uneducated as well.
I looked online to find what to feed her, and how to care for her. All went well. She's had a heating rock in her tank (a HUGE tank I put her into) <--the sales guy at jacks only cared about makin a sale...he sold her in a tiny lil ten gallon tank with nothing more than a heating light and a stick in it....not suitable for a happy iguana. so i put her in a large 5 ft long tank, and had her a really nice little habitat going on. i was still uneducated tho. i had no idea that a heat rock could cause the severe injury it caused on her.
she got burned severely on her little tummy.
i called jacks to ask if they had any advice for me as i didnt evenknow yet why her tummy was crispy and hard like a big scab....the guy explained that it sounded like a heat rock incident...
i asked him what i could do to help her, he suggested soaking her in water to soften it up som to make her more comfortable. she could not move hardly with her tummy all scabbed up like it was. so i began soaking her daily for like 20 mins in warm water, it did soften her up some, but she was not improving. she became more lethargic and several times when i looked into her tank, i was afraid she was no longer alive.
on thursday, i put her in the kitchen sink on a rock for her daily soaking, while she was in there, i set my kitchen timer to go off in 10 mins so i could be sure to keep her water from getting too cold for her. in the meantime i went to clean out her tank. the timer went off, and my little iguana had drowned. i was beside myself, i tried to do cpr tried to get her to breathe, she made one gasp and died in my hands.
i was torn up. i was very upset. and distraught.
i called jacks to ask them if i could bring her body in to them to "take care" of it....
i explained to a girl named "angie" what had happend, and she was very kind, she put me on hold while she went to get the manager.
the manager got on the phone and said, "yes...this is so n so, what can i do for you?" i told her i was holding on for someone to come back...she said, "yeah, she told me your story, what do you want me to do?" i asked her if there was anythign they could do, i didnt' knwo what to do with her little body. the manager answered rudely and bluntly, 'well, you can either bury her or throw it in the trash.. i could not believe what just came out of her mouth. omg...i just hung up the phone at that point.
i called them back in 5 mins....angie answered the phone again and i told her to tell her manager that she was the most insensitive "bitch" i had ever talked to and i would never do business there again.
i can't believe for one thing, they just sell anybody anything with no education. (i found out after the fact that had i put some simple neosporin on the burns, that she would have healed up. i didnt know this tho, even the so called expert from teh pet store didn't bother to give me that tidbit of information that very well could have saved her life.)
if i owned a pet store, i would know all i need to know about the animals i was selling....i would educate buyers and see to it that if they were purchasing pets, that they knew all they needed for a proper habitat. when i received little lizzy iguana, all she had was a ten gal tank, a stick and a red light bulb for heat. nothing else.
they told me to feed her lettuce....(only lettuce)...i searced to find proper foods for her myself. i can't believe the unprofessional people at that pet store.

Vet tech (Jessie) who also works at the front desk, and takes your phone calls is rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. She needs to find a different line of work.

I had taken a stray cat there to be neutered, de-clawed, and have shots done. At the time of drop off, we were told that we could pick him up in three days. On the third day, when we went to pick him up they said that we should have picked him the day after his surgey, and that we would have to pay another $84.00 to get the cat back. We did not have the extra money that they needed, so they made us leave the cat there. When we asked to speak to a manager, they said that it would be $42.00. Last night we recieved a certified letter saying that they are going to "dispose of" the cat in 10 days if the balance os not paid, and that they were turning the balance into collections and that we will be prosocuted for abandonment. We were just trying to help a stray cat, and now they are going to kill it!

Dr. Muldoon is AMAZING.  I would trust no one else in the operating room.  I would even trust her to operate on me!

Dr. Steve and his caring staff work very hard to ensure complete care of my many pets. There is no better veterinary hospital in the area!

This place is a great place to find quality fish, and the family who runs it is very up on their business.
