I gotta be honest. I am a student at TNT but just wanted to say I couldn't be happier. All the guys that train there are way cool and very technical. Coach Scott is a phenomenal instructor that breaks down the technique while teaching like I have never seen at my previous other 3 BJJ schools I trained at before. I have progressed more in the past 4 months than in the previous 2 years I've been training. Definitely found an Academy I can call home.

Thanks to The Phoenix House Of Karate I am happy to be a part of your family .The training is always a part of my daily life Karate is a way of life and I have trained with Mack Newton ,Tony the Tiger Baltazar and my uncle Herc Coleman. Since I was a little lad I have loved the arts it is like learning to shoot a pistol or fire a rifle you are elearning how to kill and mame there is a great degree of experience at PHOK and noone will ever be able to take a away what Sensei Bernsten taught me It is true self defense that works and is applied practically in a street enviorment I am also a better man mentally because of the strict discipline and memory exercise that they incorporate in there training I am proud to be the 52 black belt with over 5000 hours of training from my dojo

Top notch BBJ school. Been training for a few years in Tempe and Chandler and thought the instruction was very technical. Suprisingly unlike other BJJ schools I've tried the instructor wrestled me. Great experience to roll with a black belt of that caliber. Pretty much tapped me at will but was very nice about it. Very humbling. Definately want to continue my training there but a little to far for me to drive everyday.

I have been a part of Shaolin Arts for the past 6 months and can say it has been a wonderful experience. The school I attend is on Cave Creek Rd., just north of Sweetwater. My instructor, Mr. Gellerman, makes learning Kung Fu and or Tai Chi, fun and makes you want to return more often. Also, he gives private lessons to students once a week, for one-on-one study so you can learn or understand better something you didn't pick up in regular class.

One of the great things about the school is it's a pay per month, NO CONTRACTS! They have a youth class for kids.

There are other schools in the Phoenix Valley. Look on there website for a school near you.

This is a traditional Shotokan karate dojo. The chief instructor is Shojiro Koyama, 8th Dan. The school has a focus on developing precise and powerful basic technique. Benefits of training include improved coordination, flexibility, body composition, strength, and aerobic condition. And, of course, traditional karate is excellent self-defense. The dojo is clean, well-lighted and has a good wooden floor. The students are uniformly skillful and have a good attitude; they want to help you advance as much as they want to keep improving their own technique. I've trained at a lot of schools over the last 40 years; this one is by far the best.

This course would have been great if it hadn't been for this oddball who joined us. The guy started out with a few kicks of the dirt and swears under his breath. At first glance, he was a normal dude, mid-50's, in production somewhere. After about hole 9, his true self really came to, complete with golf club breaks and throws across the course. On a positive note, he was very encouraging to my buddies and I, but when it came down to his own game he was a complete reck. My favorite line, after a tree took a bashing from his driver on hole 13, was "Lets be honest with ourselves. I'm just not cut out for this *expletive* game!" At any rate, the course was beautiful and in great condition.
