We have two children at St. Stephen of Hungary School and love it. Our daughter is Kindergarten is having an extremely rich experience with Miss Cheryl. Every day she shares her joy and growth with us. The school is a warm and nurturing community. We feel it is a home away from home for our children.

El Taller is a great place to take Spanish classes or learn about Latin American culture. All levels are welcome, and it's always a warm atmosphere full of music and great discussions-- in either English or Spanish. There are tons of cultural activities that you can take advantage of. It's definitely the best place to take Spanish in New York.

I went to this driving school about a year ago, and it was definitely the best deal after checking through several listings in the area.  They've been around a long time - the woman who ran it, who recently retired, had taken it over from her husband thirty years ago, and now her *grandson* is running it - and their reputation is excellent in the neighborhood.  *Very* low prices but excellent service from their instructor, who was available to call anytime and flexible on his schedule.  I got my license in no time and I have them to thank for it!

Unreliable and unapologetic! I made an appointment on Friday afternoon/early evening for their Monday 5 Hour DMV prelicensing course. The class was scheduled to begin at 5pm. I got a call Monday afternoon to confirm my appointment at about 12:30pm. At 3:30pm, they called me to tell me that the class had been CANCELLED due to "not enough people confirming/attending". I tried to get them to not cancel the class as I had taken off from work, but they didn't care. They made NO attempts to right the situation with me. When I told them that I had taken off so I could make this class, they told me "well this happens and you can make an appointment with us in the future". I asked them if I would be able to take this course for free during this "future appointment" due to their last minute cancellation and huge waste of my time (I lost a day, everything was planned around this), and they said no. They wouldn't even discount the course for me. Needless to say, I didn't use them but went to the "Professional Driving School of the Americas" on 23rd between Park and Madison. All in all I would say this is an awful company with poor customer service. Any company that cancels courses at the last minute because they failed to book enough people or misjudged the market is not worth making an appointment with. This was not a one time thing but is their policy (they didn't mention this when I booked the appointment). They could end us wasting your time as they did mine.

Rocking Horse is a unique and exceptional place. A one-room-schoolroom where all 2.5 to 5 year olds engage with one another. My son went there, and I'm looking forward to sending my daughter next Fall. The group becomes a community of children where the older kids help guide the younger ones, who, in turn, benefit tremendously from the opportunity to model their slightly older friends. Andy and Judy, the directors, are truly gifted educators who create a stimulating, warm, nurturing, intimate environment in which the children thrive. They feel safe and free to develop their emergent sense of responsibility. In particular my son enjoyed the art activities, a morning ritual. Andy, himself an artist, guided him through many creative ventures. Note, however, that RH is not for those who are into "trendy." It is a truly substantial place where your child will learn, among other things, the value that lies within him/herself and those who lovingly help him/her grow. I can imagine no better introduction to learning.
