I was traveling in South America in August 2009 and was the target of a mugging. As a result of my training with Mr. and Mrs. Traylor at Dark Gift Combat Fighting System, I was able to protect myself. On a Sunday afternoon, a friend and I were walking down a street in a “good” part of town in Spain. A short distance ahead of me, I noticed two women, one man, and one child standing off to the side of the sidewalk. I assessed these people as being a “family” and not a risk to me. Then, I noticed that the child ran away from the adults and the man started to run after the child. The next thing I knew, the man literally sprung up in my face. With absolutely no hesitation, I immediately reacted by using my water bottle as a weapon of opportunity to hit the man at the same time I screamed NO very loudly. After I hit him, I got in position to jab at his eyes. At this point, he realized I was not an easy target for him and he quickly ran away from me. Mr. Traylor’s situational reality based training worked in the real world for me. I went to Dark Gift Combat Fighting System for a month this summer. Even though I had not practiced in over two months, the training was ingrained in me how to assess a situation and react immediately. I absolutely did not hesitate or stop to think what I should do. I went into action as Dark Gift Combat trained me. Mr. Traylor also emphasized in the class that if you can’t carry a weapon, at least carry a water bottle because that can be helpful in defending myself. I have ten months of traveling the world by myself still ahead of me. After this experience, I now know that my Dark Gift Combat training is an automatic reflex..

I have gone to this school on and off for over 8 year it is a very good school and a great place to train. I read the comments made by some that they were too young but what they failed to say was that they are second generation. The current lead instructor is the son of a 7 Dan black belt and has been involved in the school form the age of five so unlike some 25 year old 4 dans that started at age 16 to 18 he has been spent 14 years getting to where he is. Also it is important to keep in mind that this real school were they were people come in a train all of the time not just one or twice a week. Just my two cents but I have been to a number of schools and taken different arts from different people and this one I always come back because of the people.

The school is great. Even though i stopped at green belt its awesome! Master White is the nicest master you'll ever meet. One of the instructers gave me a nick name and it is Monkey Boy.They teach you grappleing, hapkido, kendo, kicks, and different types of punches. Sometimes they have sleep overs and watergun day. Watergun day is held at a dog and play park near by.They have tournaments so you might have to travel for a tournaments. They have test which is to see if you are worthy to move on to the next belt. If you want to pass the test, move on and get your next belt, you have to entend sparing, come in uniform, make great grades, AND YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOUR BELT FORM. Nathen and Alex are one of the best instructers ever. Master White,Alex, and Nathen are very good at leading the class and helping out. One time a lady had a sezire at the school. And Nathen and Master White were the ones who helped her and the ones who called 911. While the ambulence were out side, Alex stalled so we wont look at what was happening. You'll have the work out and karete skills of your life.

I've been to several different martial arts schools and while they are all good in their own way, Bam Bam combines all of these making it the greatest martial arts school I've seen.

I went to this school I was very impressed with the Instructor, extremely knowledgeable, the students there were very kind and polite, very nice dojo had lost of bags and area to work out in. I have been to 6 of the top schools here in Houston all are awesome great instructors but this school and Mr.Taylor stuck out with there Reality Based Martial Arts class. It is so much more than any one else is offering, I am a black belt 4dan so I have seen alot of Instructor and styles, but this school and Instructor are the BEST I have seen in years!!! I do not say this lightly it takes alot for me to say this. check out the school,it is now my home

Very in depth school on real combative situation, I am blown away by the reality of the combat and the weapons that are incorporated in the sparring or fighting scenarios.

Iron Dragon is one of the top schools in the state. They took 10 people to the 2007 National Qualifier, 8 got first & 2 got second. Need I say more. This was supposed to be the biggest tournament in Texas, but the results were the same. For this reason, Mr. White received the Instructor of the Year award. No other school has been able to come close to competition record Iron Dragon holds.
