Not a bank for consumers. Uses every fee possible and manipulates accounts to allow themselves to remove funds from accounts. Stay away from this bank.

This bank has the worst customer service and inflexible policies. In 40 years I have not encountered a bank as customer UN-friendly as this one. Do not use this bank. Use ANY other bank.

MBA is a company looking out for the homeowners in this area. I was struggling with credit card debt and thought I might lose my home. They helped me refinance into a loan I could afford. The goverment is trying to help the mortgage industry right now because many homeowners do need help. They are just trying to reach out to those people.

Predatory - Misleading. Makes the pitch that 'your tax dollars are funding special new refinancing programs that you should take advantage of right now.' Please give us a break. These folks and all lenders of their type are simply one small step above grifters and conartists. The FTC, the various State's Attorney's General and their "peers" at the Mortgage Bankers Association should take a very hard look at these folks.

I hate to say something bad about a theater company, but I've seen two shows at the Baltimore Shakespeare. The first one was poorly acted and the second one, A Midsummer Night's Dream, I walked out on during intermission. I have never ever done that b4.

I've been with SECU (State Employees Credit Union) for about six years before I recently moved to Florida (students/alumni from Maryland universities are eligible to apply). SECU offers free interest checking and savings, with a $10 minimum balance and no annual fees. They also offer a Visa check card/debit card, as well as online banking. Branches and ATMs were located practically everywhere I went. Whenever I had even a small problem, they took care of it quickly (ex.: when I went to an ATM once, I got $80 instead of $100, but was debited for the $100; when at the bank later in the week to take care of something else, I mentioned the incident in passing, and they handed me a form to fill out. A couple of days later, they re-credited my account). Tellers were almost always courteous. The only negative thing I can think of about SECU would be that their speed of service at the Towson branch (after they switched buildings) was going down in the last couple of months. Not that it's all the tellers' fault; chatty clients are hard to shake off. Overall, I would recommend SECU to anyone who could get an account with them.
