I can only review the Biology department for their Anatomy and Physiology classes at Sylvania since I am taking the anatomy series there. This department at this campus has a horrible reputation among students (of which I am one of them and we not only talk about it amongst ourselves, but we hear about it from tranferees from other schools and campuses). The department changes policies and systems at any point they want to in your anatomy series and this does not benefit you. They do not implement these changes to benefit the student or to promote the success of the student. The new game plan they decided to experiment with in my third term of anatomy is to switch from 4 min. per station testing in the Lab class to 1.5 min per station (which includes 2-4 questions, same as last term) without any warning to the students and had I known, I would have gone to another campus. Many classmates did not have time to finish their test which will negatively affect their GPA and does not reflect what they have learned. It just proves they can't take a test in less than half the amount that was allowed last term for the same amount of questions. There are several very bright ESL students in class that could not finish and were very frustrated about it. I have been a straight A student until I came back to PCC for my nursing prerequisites. Now I am a B student and with this new system, I am not even at a C. Also, the instructors are all very different. Some give extra credit, some will not. It's luck of the draw and they also change that from term to term so you can't count on a certain instructor. I have one this term that wanted to see specific words, but did not let the class know what those specific words were until we had our tests back and saw the low scores. Again, I am typically a straight A student and I hired an employee to work for me part time so I could spend 20 hours per week studying. I am quite confident that I understand the material. However I am not a fast test-taker. I may not have been able to save myself from the mistake of taking my classes here, but I will put a review on every website and talk about it as publicly as I can to save somebody else from ruining their GPA and having to put in the time and money to take these classes twice.
