I have been a member of California Family Fitness for over ten years and have enjoyed their different facilities. They are usually upbeat, modern, and clean. I have found most of the staff to be very nice and cheerful. However, it would appear that their ambitions to be the largest fitness club in California come with a price. Customer Service. Several events took place over the last few months that made us finally give up our $26 dollar charter membership and find a fitness club that cares about its members.
The most disturbing was their complete lack of care or response when I pulled a soiled female sanitary napkin from the bottom of their Orangevale pool. In fact, one manger, Steve I believe was his name, laugh and thought I was going to tell him I found a floater. I guess he was referring to finding a piece of human feces instead, as if that would have been any better.
I reported the incident to the corporate office in Orangevale after finding something of a questionable nature in their spa. Again, no response.
To add insult to injury, when I tried to call and cancel my membership, I was informed that I could not over the phone and had to come down in person and it will take 20 minutes. 20 minutes to cancel a membership? Or do I have to sit through their last attempts to keep me before they will stop charging my credit card.
They do have great facilities if do not care about customer service, being just a number in their corporate world, and you Always, Always check the bottom of their pools and spas before use.
Sincerely,
A former 10 year member of CFF
