I decided to go with AVL based out of Santa Clara CA to move me from Orlando FL to San Jose CA. Andy, a salesperson from AVL Moving and Storage, called me back and after our discussion, sent me an estimate for 2000lbs and one for 3000lbs (I thought I'd be somewhere between the two). Her rates for the move were great, compared to the other big namers (United, Atlas) I've spoken with so far. He was also able to send me a truck asap, since I called him on July 6th 08 and was leaving Orlando by July 14th. Andy was great, very friendly and accommodating. I felt very comfortable speaking with him unlike some of these folks I've spoken with recently. He passed me over to Steve, an operations manager, who was also great and was very professional. So, my stuff made it to my new house in San Jose today, on time and undamaged! A few boxes/containers had some corners/sides bent in a bit, but I boxed my fragile stuff smartly with lots of blankets inside the boxes or containers. This moving company was great.They were all very professional, took great care of all my stuff (wrapped, padded, etc), and worked fast. I highly recommend AVL Moving and Storage out of Santa Clara, CA. Well worth every penny. 5-stars. 10 outta 10, etc etc....
