I had a custom home built in 1999 using windows from MI. Since then, 6 of the windows have gone bad. I have attemnpted several times to get the glass replaced. I contacted their customer service department, had one of them walk me through the paper work to verify I had all the information correct. I even had a professional windows replacement person measure the windows to provide accurate data back to MI. I have received now the fourth return of my documents. This time they don't know the quantity, which is specifically stated at the top of the document.
I caution anyone looking to purchase windows who may be interested in MI windows. Not only is the product not that good, but the service to replace the windows at no charge since they are under warranty is suspect at best. They have dragged this process out at least 5 months now, when I was hoping to have the glass replaced prior to winter. There seems to be no end in sight as to when they will eventually replace the windows. My assumption is, based on their history is I will need to engage legal in order to get this rectified.
