The San Diego Dept. of Animal Control has opened an investigation into the death of my daughter's dog while he was in their care. Louie was a 4 lb. Yorkie. He was left at the Golden Paw on 3/13. On 3/14 she received a coll telling her Louie was found dead in his room. When she went to claim his bady, they told her he was actually found in the puppy playroom with the LARGE DOGS! Someone had put Louie in the room with 3 small dogs, but neglected to take him out before they let the large dogs in. They advertise supervised doggy play, but can't explain why there was no one there when the other dogs were using Louie as a play toy! They advertise the web cam so you can see your dog at play. Yet no one saw Louie. They advertise a beautiful facility -- beautiful on the outside, but ugly on the inside. They refuse to talk to her, they offer no sympathy for her loss. and they give her no explanations to date. I flew 3,000 miles to be with my daughter because she has had nightmares regarding the manner of Louie's death. Save yourself this heartache. GO ELSWHERE!!! I am asking, if anyone has had their dog return from this facility sick or injured, please report this incident. Email it to Dawn.Danielson@sdcounty.ca.gov
