Going to a W Hotel is a different experience. This hotel chain targets young people, and you can feel it on the vibe, the decoration and the layout of rooms.

I was in the W Hotel in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. It all looks like a night club, even the elevator's walls are made out of deformed mirrors with blue lights on, creating a really cool visual effect inside.

On the first floor of this Hotel there is a club called "the beach" (here is my review: http://www.rateitall.com/i-2466530-the-beach-w-hotel.aspx)

The W Hotel is located in San Diego downtown. It is close to restaurants and bars with a really active social life going on during the weekend.

Old, re-furbished hotel a few blocks from the restaurants & bars in Gaslamp. The rooms are small, but nice beds and an upscale feel. The elevator when made originally in the early 1900's was the fastest in California but now it's pretty slow, and quite a pain when you are taking luggage in and half to open the heavy door plus the gate. Other than that a convenient hotel and I would stay again.

This a clean enough hotel in the heart of Pacific Beach. The location is great - it's on the beach, just a few steps from the PB boardwalk and all kinds of bars and restaurants. It's also right across from World Famous, which is an excellent breakfast spot right on the beach. $300 per night seems steep for a Best Western, but I guess that's the location. There's free, albeit spotty wifi, and like I said, it's not a bad hotel. Pack four in a room (like we did), and it's a pretty good place to stay.

We rented a car in Auto Rent for a week. In 5 days, we used 3 cars!!. The first one was a ford focus, the A/C didnt work. The second one was a chevy aveo, everything looked ok, except the radio that didnt work well. It was turning on and off by itself, but we didnt take care about this because it wasnt important for us.

The big problem became two days later when we parked the car just to have lunch, (less than two hours after been driven 1 hour) and when we returned the car didnt start. So, we thought that it was an electrical problem because it is impossible that a battery becomes empty in that time and because we realized that the radio had problems. We called to the company and they spend 5 hours to go to help us and all the money of my cellular phone, 4 or 5 calls!!!. Even that, they charged $200 extra in our bill!!! in order to go to recharge our battery. They said that it was our fault that maybe we left some light on, it wasnt in this way at all.

You are not going to earn money with this company; I rented a car in Dollar company in equivalent conditions and it was only $10 more than in AutoRent, and the cars was very well maintained and clean.

So, they have stolen our time and money.

Worst service EVER. Terrible experience. We went a total of 4 miles, left the truck with a full tank of gas, and found extra charges on our credit card statement. They charged us $50, saying that the tank was low on gas (it wasnt; we were sure to leave it with a full tank to avoid the extra charges). They also charged us an extra $50 cancellation fee (we never cancelled; we were there on time and picked it up). We called to try to work out the extra false charges, and were instead offered rude customer service. We got the cancellation fee back, but they would not refund the gas fee, which was wrongfully charged. We also would like to recommend that anyone renting a uhaul get the $14 protection coverage, incase you bang up the truck; we rented a truck from them once before, never got a scratch on the truck, but they tried to say there was a new scratch and that we'd have to pay some outrageous price for it...but, we had gotten the protection coverage anyway, so we paid nothing. The trucks are all destroyed. They make people pay all the time and never fix them. It's all a scam. So beware of Point Loma Uhaul...rude customer service, and complete money-scammers. I'll never deal with them again.
