Ohio SERS seems to be self governed without adequate appeal procedures, which has left a person I know facing entering a nursing home and suicidal. She's obviously disabled, but they keep questioning this (after denying some obvious medical evidence during initial application)and won't let her work for trumped up reasons that they alone understand (we're not privy to explanations of decisions made that are arbitrary and capricious).
All of this wouldn't seem so bad, except for the fact that when you visit their office building in Columbus, it's a fancy glass high rise loaded with expensive and original works of art and a state of the art conference room, wired for sound, that would rival that of any top law firm in the state. Makes you aware of their priorities.
If you need to apply to SERS for disability, may God be with you, because SERS won't be.....
